Whelp, I don’t even remember when we started this bathroom renovation, but it was supposed to be done in 8 weeks for the @oneroomchallenge In the middle of it I developed frozen shoulder and couldn’t lift a tile. It’s taken months of PT to get my range of motion back and I’m still working on rebuilding the strength in my right arm.
Thankfully we found an amazing contractor who could finish it for us.
Many thanks to @speakmancompany for their sponsorship and patience with me for getting this posted so late. I can’t say enough good things about their products and interactions. We’ve had their fixtures in our primary bathroom for years and absolutely love them.
I’m grateful to have this project 💯 finished!

On 9/11 my brother @rr_equipment_and_more captured the last run of Ladder 118 from the Brooklyn Middagh St firehouse. It has become one of the most meaningful photos from that horrible day. We all lived it together, no matter where we were. I’ve only recently been able to speak about the things I saw that day from across the river, and I’m posting today because the story of the heroes of Ladder 118 needs to be told. by @therootsofhome

Bathroom renovation progress…It’s looking like something now! The shower tile is finished. The floor tile is being grouted today. I was originally going to go with a plainer quartz countertop, but when I found this granite with green in it I completely changed my mind. It should be installed early next week.
Thanks to our friends at @handypaintpail for the box full of goodies to make painting so much easier!

Well I don’t know how I did this, but I posted this @oneroomchallenge week 6 update on TikTok in May and forgot to post it here. Spoiler alert, we in fact did not finish in two weeks.

My shoulder injury severely limited me, so we ended up hiring someone to do the tile and other things I couldn’t do. We’re getting close to done now! I lost track of how many weeks past our original date goal we are 🤦🏻‍♀️

We did a fun family photoshoot last night @oldriverfarmsnc beautiful larkspur field. They made me laugh a ridiculous amount. These four babies of mine are my absolute joy! I cannot wait to see how these photos turn out! If you’re anywhere near the #wilmingtonnc area, it is worth the drive!

Welcome to our “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” bathroom renovation. Week 4 of our One Room Challenge actually ended Sunday and I did not post. So now it’s Week 5 and here’s Week 4. This bathroom has been a huge can of worms once we opened it up. We ordered our tile today so hopefully soon we can start putting it all back together!

Week 3 of our One Room Challenge project. Welcome to our chaos! What’s that saying… the family that renovates together…?
The shower demolition had to be surgically strategic to avoid all of the wires we could see through the exhaust fan hole and the wires we knew had to be back there that we couldn’t see. Thankfully no wires were cut and we have a blank slate to start with!

This Jack and Jill bathroom is going to be our next project in the log home we’ve been renovating. Six years ago we lipsticked the pig with a $100 makeover.
Recently the tub drain plumbing started leaking through the ceiling downstairs and it became the highest priority project, so here we are jumping into the One Room Challenge with a huge project!
This time we’re doing a total renovation. The first to go is this tub/shower.
These are the “befores” for this project and the “before the befores,” the original bathroom. I have to say, I was sad to see that wallpaper go!
We’ve got 8 weeks to finish this bathroom for the ORC! Let’s see if we can make it🤪
