🎼✨ A sneak peak at Lover's Dance ✨🎼

Composer Babak Naseri brings a powerful story from Persian literature to life in his piece Lover’s Dance. A pianist, composer, and educator, Naseri’s work often draws inspiration from storytelling, culture, and expressive musical traditions.

Inspired by the Persian epic Khosrow and Shirin by Nezami, the piece reflects a moment when Shirin visits Farhad at the mountain. Overwhelmed with joy at seeing her, Farhad begins to dance. This emotional encounter captures themes of love, devotion, and longing that have resonated through centuries of poetry.

This performance of Lover’s Dance will be accompanied by an original visual film by Abdullah Khan, creating a unique sensory experience that brings the story to life on stage. This project was funded through the Toronto Arts Foundation's Newcomer Grant.

Experience this collaboration live at our upcoming concert Classical Foundations!
