We weren’t expecting this when we travelled through Morocco… 🇲🇦

One minute we were going about our day, and the next we found ourselves watching this incredible display of traditional music and dancing.

These are the moments that make travelling so special — the experiences you can’t plan, Google or put on an itinerary.

One of those unexpected travel moments you couldn’t have planned. 🎶🇲🇦

Wandering the colourful streets of Essaouira and coming across a local Gnawa musician playing the gambri in a doorway — these are the moments that make travelling so special.

This has been on my bucket list since I was 14… 🥹🇪🇬

I can’t quite believe we’re finally here. ❤️

We were welcomed into Egypt with the most glorious sunset on the way over, which I took as a pretty special sign of the adventure to come. ✨

And now, here we are… living a dream I’ve had for decades.

Some of our favourite travel moments are the ones we never planned. 🤎

We stopped to watch a Moroccan artist turn a blank piece of paper into a little memory of Morocco — and we were completely mesmerised watching it come to life. 🇲🇦🎨

The older we get, the more we realise that the moments we remember most aren’t always the ones we planned.

Sometimes it’s simply standing somewhere beautiful, watching the sun go down and thinking, we’re pretty lucky to be here.

This was one of those moments in Essaouira, Morocco. 🇲🇦

After 30 years of travelling together, we’ve learnt that it’s the experiences, the unexpected moments and the memories we create together that stay with us long after the trip is over.

And maybe that’s one of the best things about travel as we get older. ❤️

We booked a stay near Aït Benhaddou… but THIS was the view. 🤎
