“[S]he’s the toughest player we’ve had,” @berks_county_hs_girls_rugby head coach Paul Shingleton said of @nextphaserugby Player of the Month CharLee Weaver’s contributions. “Now her IQ is starting to catch up with that toughness. She’s starting to find ways to dominate on the pitch using her smarts as well as her toughness.”

The Cocalico HS (Denver, Pa.) senior is co-captaining Berks this year and the flyhalf is the type of leader who drives high standards and commands respect. The coaches are giving her room to grow and flourish, building momentum that Weaver hopes to take into the college realm.

During last Sunday’s championship tournament, Carmel actually lost a pool game before regrouping and winning the title match against the Chargers. It was an important experience that the squad will bank as it readies for spring 15s.

Really looking forward to the @pennstatewrugby vs. @sbuwomensrugby game this weekend. Will lend some good perspective to the @nationalcollegiaterugby Division I.

The Nittany Lions’ home opener marks Matt Ramirez’s first as the new head coach of the women’s program. Since arriving in mid-August, he’s been loving learning about this smart, driven and inspired player group, which is eager to connect to the past, each other and the path forward.

The 2026 @nirawrugby season opens up this weekend with a bevy of DI and DII games (check site for full lineup). It’s particularly fun to see all of the @usarjnt and all-star players rejoin their college teammates and inject all of the quality summer experience into their squads. 📸 Charmaine Sandler

Maddie Hubbell is just one example of a @usarugby Pathways player who made the most of the summertime, representing the title-winning @midwestrugby U23s, earning Player of the Tournament for the USA U20s in South Africa, and then being selected as one of the youngest players for the USA Falcons.

A new rugby season is here, and Lavi Lomu, the @nextphaserugby HS Player of August, is the perfect subject to stoke excitement for what’s to come this year 📸 Jackie Finlan / TRB

The Skyridge HS senior started playing co-ed tackle in elementary school, but it wasn’t until joining United’s first all-girl middle school team that she really started to fall in love with the sport. And then when her older sister, Dartmouth senior Jordis, started exploring next-level playing opportunities, Lavi started to view rugby less as a hobby and more as a vehicle.

The accolades cap a whirlwind of a year since graduating from @sacredheartwrugby in spring 2025. The Prusmack Award winner (‘25) played in the first WER Legacy Cup (with the NY Exiles), co-captained the USA Falcons in Brazil, won a club 7s national championship with the @chicagolionswomen, and earned her master’s in Scotland while playing with @eulrfc.
