I did a 5km time trial to see where I am before I start my 6 week training block. I was aiming for anything near 25 minutes so was pleasantly surprised by it being so much faster!

I have been mainly racewalking recently and running has been the secondary thing I am doing on the side. I am really pleased I have got back to these speeds without hurting my knee or without any really specific running training so I would certainly say if anyone has a tendency to get injured, swapping easy runs out for race walks has worked for me!

Hill session!

I was more sensible this time as last time I did a hill session, I felt a slight twinge in my knee so was trying to avoid a repeat! I did 3 sets of 3x up the hill, jog down as rest.

Today was a 10km before 10am kind of day!

I do struggle to figure out how to ensure I get enough fuel before my morning exercise because usually I feel sick if I train fairly close to eating any substantial food so I have taken to having a banana before I excerise. However, I have a feeling this is probably not quite enough to fuel a 10km. Does anyone have any better reccomendations for how to fuel for my morning exercise?

I found the new version of Microsoft paint - Canva! I didn't go anywhere too exciting so thought these backgrounds would be more interesting! Today was a run followed by a light gym session (cycle & erg).

I'm trying to set up a productive training routine to keep me going over the autumn. However, I'm trying to avoid injury so the focus for this week is doing the total number of sessions I plan to do but do less exercise per session. After I get into a routine, I will start to incrementally increase each session. 🤞

Today I did:
- Session 1: Racewalk - 6.29km in 45:09 (7:11/km)
- Session 2: Run - 4km in 23:16 (5:49/km)
- Session 3: Open Water Swim - 30min
