We’re bringing back the uphill kids race at The Long Run on November 8th!

It’s free for any kids 10 and under. This will kick off when the 3 Hour and 6 Hour race comes to an end at 1:30pm.

where to even start. last weekend i ran the first half of the catskill 100. the goal was 100, but the name of game is give what you got.

when i dreamt up this route, a part of me always wanted to experience it. race directors are creators. we spend massive amounts of time curating an experience for others and this route felt like something truly special. something i needed to experience for myself. when it came time to put together a team to help me with this personal effort, the running kind crew showed up.

bringing this to a close at just over 50 miles and 17,000ft was emotional. i was worried about disappointing all the people that didn’t get to run or be a part of this in the way they thought they would. i was sad that my feet said no when the rest of my body and mind said keep going. i was relieved to be approaching the end of this pain. i was overwhelmed by the love from the people waiting for me at the trailhead. the soul of the running kind was felt from mile 1 to mile 52. so, for all of you that played a part in this effort, thank you for that. it’s powerful to recognize the impact the running kind has had and the people it has brought together. sometimes i have to pinch myself when i think about the beautiful people i have in my corner.

One month ago we opened registration for the first 100-miler in the Catskills.

Now, we have less than 40 spots remaining and less than 10 men’s spots. We are so excited to have a 50 / 50 gender equal start line for the first running of this historic event.

On today’s episode, Aimee is joined by northeast mountain runner, Katie Rhodes. She is a beast in the technical terrain of the Adirondack mountains and has cemented herself as one of the best ultra runners in the region. In 2020, she set the unsupported FKT for the Adirondack High Peaks in just over 7 days covering over 175 miles and 64,000ft of elevation change. More recently, she did 24 peaks in 24 hours over 53 miles and 26,000ft of elevation change.
