That’s a wrap for term 2/3 of my Diploma in Fine Jewelry with @jewellersacademy!

Challenges came up, curses were shouted, problems were solved yet we pushed through to the finish line.

Between moving into our first home this term, finishing moving out of our last rental, and putting together this studio from scratch, i’m proud of this work that I completed in my new space! ✨

October was a full spectrum of life — in the most human sense.

The month began in what I’d call creative equilibrium — that rare sweet spot where my environment, to-do lists, and dopamine all aligned. I birthed new work, followed through on school projects, and felt that flow every artist chases.

Then it got cold. I moved my bench back inside, which of course meant reworking the entire studio setup (again).

As surely as the moon rises and fades, I retreat when my creative energy is overused or not restored. And just as the moon pulls the tides, so does Grief — quiet and powerful, demanding stillness before equilibrium returns.

This year brought loss that wasn’t on my bingo card — two funerals for little ones who never got their chance to grow, the loss of my Grandmother, and another family member entering hospice. Even when grief isn’t directly mine, it still carves lessons into me: Presence. Gratitude. Community.

In these darker days, I’ve been regenerating — slowing down, recharging, and contemplating how I want to show up online.
As someone who builds brands and teaches others how to navigate social media, it’s strange to feel no motivation to exist there myself. But that’s the paradox of the creative cycle, isn’t it?

For now, I’m recuperating, reimagining, and planning.

In March my partner & I took our first beginning jewelry class at @metalartsguildga and I have been hooked ever since.

The creative journey is really so special and a crazy thing to witness. In the last 10 years, i’ve worn many hats…

🧢 A photographer
🧢 A Printmaker
🧢 A undergrad student
🧢 A freelance photographer
🧢 A social media manager
🧢 A social media agency owner
🧢 A painter
🧢 A bookish business owner
and now…
🧢 A metalsmith ✨

All of these things may seem unrelated to each other, but each step in the process has led me to the next, better, more fulfilling role I get to play. I remember meeting a local creative jewelry maker when I was in college and thinking, ”Wow. You can do this for a living??” And I guess then, that seed was planted.

It’s amazing coming to a full circle moment, and yet, this is just the beginning!

I can’t wait to share what I’ve been making, and take you all with me on this journey, if you’ll have me, of course! ✨
