What a sparkly, special night we had at the Pacific Clinics Gala Under The Stars -and a spectacular sunset- at Paramount Studios. Thank you @pacificclinics & to my sister Laura (the PC CCO!) for inviting me & my niece Julia & nephew Nic for always being the coolest hang-mates, & to friends Jonny Silverman & Jennifer Finnigan who always bring the joy. Congratulations to Ike Barinholtz for his much deserved honor! Here’s more official info if you want to take a deeper look or pitch in:

“At the Under the Stars Gala
On Saturday, our team joined Pacific Clinics at the historic Paramount Studios in Los Angeles for an evening supporting Pacific Clinics Hollygrove and mental health programs for local families.
The night celebrated the 2026 honorees, including Emmy-nominated actor Ike Barinholtz as Champion of Mental Health, with Paula Abdul joining as a celebrity guest presenter. The most powerful moments came from the young people and families who shared how Pacific Clinics has changed their lives.
In the past fiscal year alone, Pacific Clinics served and reached nearly 140,000 individuals across California through mental and behavioral health care, housing, employment support, and community outreach. We’re grateful to help keep that work going.
Thank you to Pacific Clinics and everyone who made the evening so special.” by @thesampancake

On this week’s Trauma Box, Shawn, Tyler, and the wonderful Sam Pancake discuss the horrors of codependency, elder care, sibling rivalry and rich, savory, slowly simmering resentment while dissecting the 1991 made for television version of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. As if eating worm sandwiches weren’t undignified enough, our long-suffering protagonist, Blanche, must reckon with one of life’s ultimate traumas: the bad haircut. See Lynn Regrdave cut her sister Vanessa’s actual hair on screen! Shudder along with us a grande dame of stage and screen has her bangs brutally chopped by her own sibling! by @thesampancake

My favorite Golden Age of Hollywood historian @brandonjohnston took me on a tour of the stunning “Adrian: Designing Hollywood” exhibit at @fidmmuseum to which he loaned his exquisite Adrian original coat. Gowns made for Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo, Janet Gaynor, Norma Shearer, Ginger Rogers and so many more astound. Head over to Brandon’s IG to see serendipitous journey he went on with this beautiful piece of Hollywood design history and dazzle your eyes and artistic soul with a trip to the splendidly curated FIDM Museum soon, LA! P.S.…it’s freeeee! taken in ASU FIDM Museum by @thesampancake

DO LISTEN NOW to our DON’T LOOK NOW (1973) podcast episode! Considered one of the creepiest most suspenseful horror movies of all time, Sam & Sarah have plenty to discuss about this film AND both get to flex their impersonations of Donald Sutherland, Julie Christie, the old blind British psychic lady & the Venetian cardinal. Uh-oh! You’ll never see a little red rain slicker the same way again! by @thesampancake

Bob Mackie. WOW. How lucky we all were to share the earth with him & his extraordinary talents. He made the world more sparkling, dazzling, chic, sexy, stunning, glamorous and FUN. We were fortunate enough to attend the premiere screening of the documentary BOB MACKIE: NAKED ILLUSION at the DGA on May 13, 2024. In attendance & participating in the Q&A afterward (handled masterfully by @davekarger ) were RuPaul, Pink, Carol Burnett & Cher— who ended up sitting in the row right in front of us! It was an unforgettable evening & I’m so happy I took all these vids so I can share them with you in tribute to this t r u l y lengendary t r u l y iconic artist & craftsman. RIP great sir. ✨✨🌟✨✨
**and thank you so much to @pizzahutmama3 , @jamesarr , @madison_hollan & @malicole for getting me hooked up with the tickets! by @thesampancake

If you’re not in NYC on Saturday, September 12 to see my new solo show, “SELF-ABSORBED MAN: A True Story About Hollywood, Murder, Addiction, Sex and Me,” may I recommend buying a ticket to the Livestream? That way you can watch it at your own leisure wherever you desire. I’d love to see you IRL though if you can make it! Thank yaaaaaa. taken in Riom by @thesampancake
