Some evenings I like to pick a bottle from a region that has my heart.Last night it was the 2024 Domaine de Verquière Vacqueyras.One of my favorite blends, Grenache leading the way with Syrah and just a touch of Cinsault.Dark ripe fruit forward with a beautiful balance of earthiness, dried herbs, and just a touch of pepper. What I loved most was how silky and effortless it felt from the first sip to the last.Southern Rhône rarely lets me down, and last night was another reminder of why these wines keep drawing me back.Lean in. 2021 Muga Reserva. 🍷Some bottles find their way to you through a recommendation that simply can’t be ignored.This was one of those bottles.Velvety, full bodied, and beautifully structured. Notes of ripe berry, sweet spice, and soft tobacco. It paired beautifully with a grilled steak night at home and reminded me exactly why Rioja continues to have such a devoted following.This bottle was truly enjoyable. Yesterday felt like home. Good wine is even better when shared with someone you love spending time with. ✨🍷Tokaji dry Furmint and Grüner to start, Crémant de Loire to celebrate, Syrah with steak frites, and a little China-China to finish.Tiny wine nerd moment: Furmint is one of Hungary’s signature grapes, and this was my first time trying it dry.
