POSTS STORIES REELS

These are the first postcards I’ve sent in…months. Not having my own space for my snail mail activities has kind of taken its toll so I’ve slowed down a lot. It felt good to get these two written and stamped today.💌 I’ll keep trying to catch up…

📚Forgotten YA Novels of Yesteryear📚
I’m never going to read Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke, but it did remind me of some forgotten YA novels that I read back in the day.📚Find the link to my Substack in my bio, and let me know if you remember them, too.

If you’ve spent countless hours at Barnes & Noble over the years like me then you’ve likely noticed the murals in the cafe. But I bet you also don’t know much about them. I wrote about them and the artist @garykelleyart on my latest Substack so now you can! Check my bio for the link.📚 #barnesandnoble #bookstore #bookstagram by @these.modern.words

🌈Cross Stitch as Queer Resistance🌈
This is a project I’m working on that will become a zine with 6 cross stitch patterns inspired by queer history! Craft is deeply intertwined with queer protest and resistance, and I wasn’t finding patterns for Pride that spoke to me so I decided to create my own. This is my first completed stitch! I’ll post the others as I finish them.😊

Highly specific library zine incoming! Hopefully the copies I sent for the @zinepavilion make it there in time.

I randomly came across this edition of Wuthering Heights one day on the internet, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. The cover illustration looks straight out of the 1980s but was actually done in 1961 when Scholastic printed it. Absolutely bonkers. I also love how they styled the back cover summary like something out of Valley of the Dolls. Many thanks to @the_insomniac_bookshop for enabling me to add this one to my vintage paperback collection!

Happy Pride!!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
This idea for a gel plate print based on the hanky code popped in my head the other day and, after one printing mishap, I made it happen! I’m really, really thrilled with how it turned out!

I could not be more thrilled to have my zine included in the spring 26 Edit of the @zine___machine!! There are six other amazing zines in the mix tape, which you can get in an actually cassette case on the Zine Machine website. How cool is that?!🥰 I’ve been making zines for a long time, but I also took a long break from making them. I have to give credit to @sadness_of_the_swamp for getting me back into it. And I never would’ve thought that I’d get to be a part of such a fun project like this! Thanks for choosing me Kristen!!💖
