The Dallas Design District has long been shaped by the people who create here—designers, artists, restaurateurs, and makers who have turned the neighborhood into one of the city’s most compelling cultural hubs.

The Seam weaves those threads together, creating a place where creativity, dining, and design naturally intersect.

In 2008, JD Miller and Philip Romano opened Samuel Lynne Galleries on Dragon Street with a vision, a museum architect, and 11,000 square feet of blank canvas—establishing a space that would become a defining presence in the Dallas Design District.

Eighteen years later, JD still lives and works in the neighborhood, continuing to shape the gallery while remaining closely tied to the district that has grown alongside it.

Part of the District’s early fabric, and still part of its future.

The Dallas Design District didn’t happen by accident. It was built by people who showed up before it was a sure thing — the creatives, the makers, the businesses that took the risk and stayed.

’Along the Seam’ is a series spotlighting those neighbors. The ones who didn’t wait for the neighborhood to arrive. They built it.

These aren’t our brands. They’re the people next door — woven into the same block, the same street, the same story. And they’re definitely worth knowing. taken in Dallas, Texas by @theseamdallas

Every detail is a decision.

Material, texture, tone—each one shaping how a space is felt as much as how it’s seen.

It starts with raw material.

Layered, gathered, pulled into place—until something cohesive begins to emerge.

At The Seam, a former 70s office park is being reworked with that same intention—bringing together design, dining, and culture into something connected, tactile, and new. taken in Dallas Design District by @theseamdallas
