Sonoma Film Club presents DAZED & CONFUSED (R, 1993) : Special Screening, featuring Q&A with Jonathan Burkhart and viewing of rare collection of behind-the-scenes 35mm photos from the making of the film.Monday, July 27, 2026DOORS 6:30 PM | FILM 7:00 PM | Q&A TO FOLLOW*Wine bar hosted by Sixteen600Directed by Richard Linklater and starring Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Jason London, Joey Lauren Adams, Milla Jovovich, Adam Goldberg, Rory Cochrane, Wiley Wiggins and Cole HauserThis coming-of-age film follows the mayhem of a group of rowdy teenagers in Austin, Texas, celebrating the last day of high school in 1976. The graduating class heads for a popular pool hall and joins an impromptu keg party, however star football player Randall Pink Floyd has promised to focus on the championship game and abstain from partying. Meanwhile, the incoming freshmen try to avoid being hazed by the seniors, most notably the sadistic bully Fred O'Bannion.About Jonathan Burkhart | Jonathan has extensive experience in the film industry, working as both a cameraman and producer. Jonathan’s filmography includes Spike Lee's “Do the Right Thing” and “Mo' Better Blues,” “Mountain View” for John Sayles, “Roommates” for Peter Yates, “Reversal of Fortune” for Barbet Schroeder, amongst others. Jonathan is also the co-founder and president of the Nantucket Film Festival, dedicated to honoring screenwriters and their craft. 📰 ‘Golden Age of Hollywood’ gala raises $200,000 for Sonoma County movie theater 🗞️ @PressDemo Story by Dan Taylor | Photos (Darryl Bush/For The Press Democrat)"More than 200 people gathered April 11 at the Sebastiani Theatre on Sonoma Plaza for its “Golden Age of Hollywood” gala, raising more than $200,000 to support and preserve the 92-year-old venue.“This fundraiser supports everything we do at the theater, including films, children’s programming and special events,” said Jocelyn Vick, president of the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation’s board.The evening featured live performances by the New York City duo SUSU — Liza Colby and Kia Warren — as well as a nine-piece Bay Area band led by Neil Fontano.Auction items included a private theater rental, a package featuring an airplane flight over the Bay Area and a night at a San Francisco hotel, as well as wines, a chef’s dinner and weeklong stays in Scottsdale, Arizona, and near Vail, Colorado.The theater was built in 1933 by Samuele Sebastiani, a prominent local winemaker, during the depths of the Great Depression. Designed by the architect James W. Reid, it represented a significant investment in the town at a time of economic hardship.It opened April 7, 1934, with the film “Fugitive Lovers.”In 1986, the theater was sold to an Oakland-based investor. Five years later, Roger and Diana Rhoten leased the Sebastiani Theatre. Tony Ginesi, formerly general manager of the venue, will succeed Roger Rhoten as executive director, it was announced last week.The nonprofit Sebastiani Theatre Foundation, founded in 2008, helps sustain the venue." by @thesebastiani
