"🖤Welcome to The Secret Stacks 🖤"

Hi! I'm Bev, 42, and this is my little corner of Bookstagram.

I don't stick to one genre—I read whatever grabs me. Dark romance, crime, thrillers, fantasy, horror, spicy romance... if it's got me saying 'just one more chapter' at 2am, I'm in.

Expect honest reviews, zero judgement, a rapidly growing TBR, and the occasional obsession with morally grey fictional characters.

Pull up a chair, tell me what you're reading, and let's fill these Secret Stacks together. 🖤

I received an ARC of this novella, and what a little spicy, monster-filled treat this was!

A dark and spicy omegaverse monster shifter romance? Yes please.

Meet Isla, a young omega, and Dylan, a 600-year-old alpha. But Isla doesn't just catch Dylan's attention, his kraken senses her first, recognising her as his mate before she even knows what's happening.

Having never experienced a heat before, Isla has no idea what's happening to her. The pain, the heat, the overwhelming feelings… the only thing that seems to help is being close to Dylan. And when they finally come together, one word keeps echoing in her mind, Mate, mate, mate.

Dylan knows exactly what Isla is to him, but he's keeping a pretty big secret. He's convinced she'll run when she discovers his kraken, completely unaware that Isla is already intrigued by the mysterious creature lurking beneath the waves.

As their bond grows and Isla finally comes face to face with his kraken, she discovers that the feelings she has for Dylan are just as strong for the creature he fears will scare her away.

A great little novella that I absolutely devoured.

Ella's writing is well-paced, with plenty of detail to pull you into the story. It's dark, spicy, and has a monster romance twist that makes it stand out.

A quick, addictive read for anyone who loves their romance a little bit unusual and a whole lot spicy!

The second book in the Hex and Hack duet, and we're back with Hex and Sage!
I was hooked from the start and honestly struggled to put this book down. But excuse me but what do you mean Sage is part witch, part goddess and part angel!! Her powers are absolutely off the charts, and with little control over them, things get seriously dangerous when her emotions take over.

Hack's obsession with protecting Sage? Next level. And it's not just her he's determined to protect, but his brothers too. The Four Horsemen have plenty of challenges thrown their way, and the twists and turns kept me glued to the pages.

The love, the friendships (old and new), the loyalty and the honour shown to those who've been lost had me feeling all the emotions. And let's not forget Hex and Sage because they are HOT!
And that ending?! SLASH?! EXCUSE ME?!
Another gripping read that left me desperate for more. I can't wait to get my hands on the next two books when they come out! A must-read if you've loved Hack.

Love a spooky season read, and this one did NOT disappoint!

Spooky fairground, scares, costumes, pure fear and desperation. The list goes on.

Ophelia, the girl rescued from a cult and now cared for by her three men, is finally getting a night she's always dreamed of. Fun at the fair, with a little chase through the funhouse planned for extra excitement.

Little do they know, the people running this fair are seriously wrong 'uns. Travelling from town to town, leaving a trail of innocent victims behind them.

Ophelia is lured away in the funhouse, not realising it isn't her men until it's too late. She manages to escape just as her guys find her, and suddenly they're going from the hunters to the hunted.

What follows is a terrifying fight for survival, where trust, desperation and the will to protect each other are pushed to the limit. The fairground becomes a nightmare, and getting out alive is the only thing that matters.

Dark, twisted and packed with spooky-season vibes, this is one hell of a ride! If you love your romance with a hefty dose of danger, chaos and horror, this one deserves a spot on your Halloween TBR! 🎃

The perfect spooky-season read! This has been on my TBR since last year, and now I'm kicking myself for not bringing book two away with me!

Sage and Danika are best friends, housemates and business partners, until Danika turns 30 and Sage discovers she's a vampire.

Then enters Hack, the mysterious man from Sage's dreams who literally shoves his tongue down her throat She HATES him, but the tension and banter between these two are 🔥. Watching Sage fight their connection is brilliant.

Throw in witches, demons, the Four Horsemen, reincarnation, a missing best friend and some seriously dark secrets, and you've got one hell of a ride!

Dark humour, spice, supernatural chaos and twists that had me hooked. And THAT ending?! I need to get home for book 2.

When I say I have been waiting months and months for this book… I mean MONTHS. And it did not disappoint!

We’re back with Silas and Iris, and honestly what a ride. Messed up doesn’t even begin to cover it. The obsession, the chaos, the questionable choices and That scene..Whenever I read about someone blowing their brains out now, this book is going to be living rent-free in my head. Just like cheese and crackers from crawl space😂

This book seriously makes you question your own morals and I clearly don’t have any.
There were moments where I was so convinced I knew where things were heading that I wanted to riot!
I’m not spoiling a thing, but if you read crawl space and loved the absolute madness of it, you need to read straight jacket.
Dark, twisted, unhinged and everything I wanted it to be.
Thank you, J.N. Bamforth. 🖤

I was absolutely buzzing when this ARC hit my emails. I couldn’t get to it fast enough! I already love Emma’s writing, so a new trilogy? yes please.

It’s dark, it’s spicy, and it comes with plenty of trigger warning or a menu if you prefer. 😏

We follow Lawson through his years at Shadowmere University, taking his pledge, completing his assignments and ultimately claiming his prize, Harper.

Harper has intrigued him from the moment they met. Promised as a pure bride to the Obsidian Order, everything changes when her father is arrested and taken to prison. Now she needs protection, and she turns to the last person you’d expect.

The spice in this book is HOT, hot, hot! but it’s the story that really pulls you in. You NEED to know what happens next, and putting this book down is practically impossible!

And that cliffhanger? Emma, how could you!
I really hope Tillie gets what's coming to her.

Now begins the impatient wait for book two!
Releases October 15th. Available in paperback, ebook and on kindle unlimited!

An ARC read and a new-to-me author.

A hockey romance with fake marriage, forced proximity and falling for each other. All things I normally love.

The story had some really good bones. I liked the premise, the characters and the chemistry between them, and there were definitely some enjoyable moments.

But for me, it just felt like a really long read. I never found myself desperate to pick it back up or needing to know what happened next, and I think the pacing was what let it down for me.

That said, this is just my personal opinion. I can definitely see this being a hit for readers who love their hockey romances.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I couldn’t have been more excited!

I absolutely loved poor, clueless Ellie 😂 Raised in a tiny village with no TV, friends or much internet access, she moves to London in her mid-20s with basically zero life experience.

A last-minute job interview lands her at sated, a world-famous sex toy and spicy book company… except Ellie has absolutely no idea what she’s walked into. Especially when she tells the CEO she’s considering using their “new lipstick” right there and then, completely oblivious that it’s actually a mini vibrator!

Enter her boss, billionaire CEO Daddy Devlin aka Blake… or Percy Bear, if you prefer.

This book is funny, spicy, full of tension and ridiculously wasy to get pulled intp.I loved watching Ellie’s sexual awakening and Blake slowly loosen up.

A hot billionaire CEO who has banned office relationships, only to fall for the shy girl who can’t even say the word orgasm. Yep. I’m here for it.

I loved this book and i can't wait for book 2!

If you love office romance, age gap, spice and billionaire men definitely add this one to your TBR! ❤️‍🔥
