DAY 13 | Zeroset

AI agents can find the document. Knowing what changed, who approved it and what should happen next is a different problem. Zeroset is building the state layer for that gap.

ROUND: $5.2M pre-seed announced October 6, 2026, co-led by Gradient and 2048 Ventures, with participation from Leblon Capital.

PRODUCT: Nebula connects tickets, messages, approvals, handoffs and tool activity into a live representation of business state. Long-running agents can query the current workflow rather than rebuild context from raw history on every run. Gradient said the product was in closed research preview at announcement.

TEAM: Co-founders Akshat Kannan and William Zhang. According to 2048 Ventures, Zhang previously built production RAG pipelines at Amazon and founded retrieval startup Fynopsis before teaming up with Kannan. Gradient says the team is hiring researchers and systems engineers.

EARLY SIGNAL: The investors report 20% higher retrieval accuracy than Mem0 on LongMemEval, with median retrieval below 50ms and lower token use. These are investor-reported benchmarks, not independently verified customer results. We are not treating a benchmark as revenue or production traction.

DAY 12 | Nettle

Insurers cannot prevent risks they never get to inspect. Nettle is building an AI workspace to help them see more of the portfolio without relying on a specialist for every step.

ROUND: $4.8M seed announced October 6, 2026, led by MTech. Project A, Sure Valley Ventures, Portfolio Ventures and Ventures Together participated. Total funding is $6.8M, including a $2M pre-seed in March 2025.

PRODUCT: remote risk identification, guided inspections, evidence analysis and report generation in one workspace. The platform analyzes photos, video, audio and documents, then produces reports, risk scores and recommendations.

FOUNDERS: Jack Miller (CEO) and Katya Kinane (CTO), former QuantumBlack colleagues who built and deployed AI products across insurance and financial services at McKinsey. Founded in 2024, with a presence in London and New York.

TRACTION: Nettle says it helps complete inspections 5x faster and works with insurers including Allianz and Brotherhood Mutual across Europe, the US and Asia. Satellites produce more data than they can afford to send home. Satlyt builds software that runs AI on the satellite itself, so only the useful results come down.

ROUND: $8M seed announced October 1, 2026, led by Non Sibi Ventures with TLCOM, Antler, Slauson & Co., Launch Africa Ventures, Enza Capital and others. Total raised is "well past $10M," per the CEO to Payload.

PRODUCT: An AI inference layer for partner satellites, loaded before launch or uploaded in flight. It is meant to work across many makers' spacecraft rather than build its own. Satlyt says it ran Google's Gemma model in orbit and cut the size of an onboard error report by more than 60%, and it holds a NASA STTR contract worth $4M.

TEAM: Founder and CEO Rama Afullo, previously at Tesla, Google Cloud and SpaceX's Starlink, started Satlyt in 2024 after pitching in-space computing at Google and SpaceX.

Most voice AI strings together speech-to-text, a language model and text-to-speech. Berlin-based Deepslate trains a model that handles speech directly instead.

ROUND: €7.7M seed (about $8.8M, per Tech Funding News), announced October 1, 2026, led by Munich's 42CAP with Alstin Capital, existing investor SIVentures and business angels. Funds go to model training, European data, sales and marketing, and EU infrastructure.

PRODUCT: A speech encoder, a post-trained open-weights reasoning core and a speech decoder. The company says it can swap the base model by retraining only the projectors that link the parts. Hosting is in Germany and the company is ISO 27001 certified.
