A Little commotion for the pants 👏🏽 when simplicity s9925 came out I already had the perfect fabric in mind for the vibes on my balcony In viejo San Juan 😂 but why am I like this? I did add 2.5 inches to the top waistline (the pattern naturally sits 1 inch below, 👎 no thanks) high waist makes it 100x better imo taken in CasaBlanca Hotel by @thesewlabb

Before the month ends I want to do something I have never done before. Celebrate 🎊 13 years ago I left a company I absolutely hated to open my own business. I have worked extremely hard since to not ever have to go back to that. It’s not easy, especially when you are a one woman show but I have always done it my own way and I take pride in that… also in my 26 years of sewing experience, my bachelors degree in fashion design and for me the most important my reliability. I carry myself to high standard and I wake up every day and give this my all. ❤️

With that being said I tried to think long and hard about what some of my fav projects were over the years and I realized I am very much my son’s mother because out of 1,000s of projects I don’t like to pick favorites (also I’m very much In perimenopause and can’t remember) What I keep coming back to and what I will always remember is the friendships I’ve made with so many women here. The support my girls have given me, you all know who you are and I thank you immensely for always rooting for me. One moment in particular when my father died in April 2020.. all those little (and big) gestures 🥹. Just know I think the world of you all is well.

📝 Over the past 13 years I have saved every little note and card written to me (I tried to layer them best I could for some pics) 🥰

One little last BIG thing 😂 cuz they make my 🌎 go round. Mauricio for all the obvious reasons and Sal . When you’ve been together with someone as long as we have it’s easy to forget where you came from. When I first left my job he would schelp piles of my projects to work with him to sell in the office.. In Newark, for the night shift 😂 Someone once said if we lived on an island Sal would hustle my dresses up and down the beaches and we’ll see maybe in the next 13 years to come we can make that happen. taken in Bridgewater, New Jersey by @thesewlabb

Referring back to the last post about my pants, I mentioned a few months ago I was inspired to piece together bandanas for a couple of different projects.

These two I based off of Disney bandanas I thrifted and used as the bodice. I tried to pull colors that matched for the skirt layers. taken in Bridgewater, New Jersey by @thesewlabb

I made these pants from one of my favorite pant patterns Vogue v1688 and they came out really cool.
🧵Earlier this year I was experimenting with piecing together different bandanas for other projects and had the idea to make my fav pair of pants with brown, tan, cream and beige. I pieced them together for each pattern piece and the placement is 👌🏼 scroll through some detail pics taken in Lambertville, New Jersey by @thesewlabb

🧵 It’s been a while since I turned a dis store dress into something new!

My friend is having an “it’s a small world” themed party but couldn’t find the right fabric for her daughter’s dress, so she asked me if it was possible to turn a 3x dress into a dress and accessories for her daughter.

Since I only used the skirt portion for her daughters dress, heart bag and bow I also altered the bodice down to her size for matchy mom and me moment ❤️

@johmajesty grabbed this little mermaid romper during my last sale and seriously how perfect is she? (I love her 🫶🏼❤️)

The romper was made from a knit remnant I got thrifting, and guess what 🤫🤫 I have another in pink that’s ready for the next sale.. coming soon.. on @enassalepage taken in Disneyland by @thesewlabb

The Rachel Comey Vogue v1688 is one of my favorite pant patterns. 🧵 I’ve made 6 pairs in the past few months with a few small changes for each pair to get them just right 👌🏼 One being that I personally like them with a button closure instead of the tab front. 🌴 My favorite pair being the palm tree ones I made from a jungalow linen shower curtain that used to be in our bathroom 🤪 If you know me, I will make anything from a piece of cloth.
