☠️RIP SHELLE SILVER ☠️

May she rest in piss! But in all seriousness, closing this chapter honestly feels weirdly peaceful. Drag has been such a massive part of my life for so long. It gave me confidence, gave me somewhere to put the parts of me I didn’t know how to handle, and helped me survive things I didn’t even talk about at the time. I grew up in those dressing rooms and on those stages through every meltdown, every laugh and every bit of chaos. It changed me in ways I’ll forever be grateful for.

The wildest part is that my last show happened exactly five years to the day since I put on my first wig. I didn’t plan that at all. It just lined up on its own and it felt like a full circle moment that was always meant to happen. A perfect ending without me having to force one.

Somewhere along the way I realised I’d outgrown this version of myself. Not in a bad way. Just in a way that made me feel ready to choose the real me again. Drag saved me at times but it also became a mask I hid behind. And standing on that stage last night I finally felt like I didn’t need it anymore.

Getting to do my last show surrounded by people who genuinely loved me made everything make sense. They didn’t love the hair or the lashes or the character. They loved me. They’ve seen me at my best and my absolute worst and they stayed. The real ones always stay. The rest fade out and that’s fine.

Walking off that stage didn’t feel sad. It felt like letting out a breath I didn’t realise I’d been holding for years. No drama. No bitterness. No looking back. Just gratitude. Gratitude for the nights that were incredible and the nights that broke me. Gratitude for every person who believed in me. Gratitude for every version of myself I met along the way.

Five years of wigs, mug, heartbreaks, victories and lessons I didn’t expect to learn. And now I’m finally ready to choose myself. I don’t know exactly what comes next but I’m becoming the person I’m meant to be. I know I’m walking into it lighter. Thank you to everyone who loved me through all of this. It’s not an ending. It’s just the start.
