Somewhere between the tournaments, rankings, stats, roster changes, and pressure… it’s easy to forget why we started. ⚾💙

We signed them up to play.

To make friends.
To learn how to win and lose.
To build confidence.
To overcome challenges.
To experience the joy of being part of a team.
To make memories they’ll carry long after the cleats no longer fit.

And yes, we want them to work hard. We want them to compete. We want them to chase their goals.

But somewhere along the way, let’s make sure we’re not so focused on who they’re becoming as athletes that we forget to enjoy who they are right now.

They’re only kids for a little while.

Let them play. Let them laugh. Let them make mistakes. Let them fall in love with the game.

Don’t let the pursuit of being great steal the joy of playing. ❤️

Send this to a sports parent who might need this reminder today.

Let’s talk about the bench. ⚾💙

It’s not always easy to sit and watch when you want to be out there playing. It’s okay to feel disappointed. It’s okay to want more.

But here’s what great teammates understand: You can still make an impact, even when you’re not in the lineup.

✔️ Stay engaged.
✔️ Cheer for your teammates.
✔️ Keep learning.
✔️ Stay ready.
✔️ Control your attitude.

Because being a great player isn’t just about what you do when the spotlight is on you. It’s about how you show up when things aren’t going your way, too.

And parents, these are the moments when character is built. ❤️

Players: What’s harder for you—sitting on the bench or staying positive when things aren’t going your way? Let’s talk in the comments. 👇

A reminder for every young athlete who needs to hear this today. ⚾💙

You are more than your stats.
More than your last at-bat.
More than the mistakes you made.
More than the minutes you played.

You are learning. You are growing. You are figuring out how to handle hard things, work with others, and keep showing up.

And those things matter just as much as anything on the scoreboard.

Never let the pressure to be a great player take away the joy of being a kid who loves the game.

Save this for a day when you need the reminder. And send it to a teammate who needs to hear it, too. 💙 by @thesidelinesurvival

The Best Teammates Do These 5 Things:
1️⃣They celebrate other people’s success.
2️⃣They encourage teammates after mistakes.
3️⃣They hustle even when nobody is watching.
4️⃣They never make someone feel small to feel big themselves.
5️⃣They care about the team, not just their own playing time. by @thesidelinesurvival

Five Things Every Young Athlete Needs to Hear:

1️⃣You are more than your stats.
2️⃣One bad game doesn’t define you.
3️⃣You don’t have to be the best player to be a great teammate.
4️⃣It’s okay to make mistakes. That’s how you learn.
5️⃣You deserve to enjoy the game you’re working so hard to play. by @thesidelinesurvival

But also……➡️

A reminder for every player who needs to hear this today:

It’s okay to care deeply about getting better AND still have fun. ⚾️

You don’t have to be perfect. You’re going to strike out. You’re going to make errors. You’re going to have bad games. You’re going to sit on the bench sometimes. And you’re going to have days when nothing seems to go right.

That’s all part of it.

Keep working. Keep training. Keep pushing yourself. Keep learning.

But don’t let the pressure to be “good enough” steal the joy out of playing the game you love.

Find coaches who believe in you. Find teammates who make you better. And most importantly, remember to enjoy the ride.

Because these years are going to fly by.

Play hard.
Have fun.
Make memories.
You only get to be a kid playing the game once. ❤️

HEY KIDS.

You’re not supposed to remember every hit.
Every strikeout.
Every bad call.
Every error.
Every game you lost.

You’re supposed to remember playing.

Getting outside.
Laughing with your teammates.
Trying something you’ve never done before.
Learning how to win without being a sore loser.
Learning how to lose without giving up.
Making a mistake and learning how to bounce back.
Working hard for something you really want.
Making friends.
Making memories.

These are the days.

So play hard.
Have fun.
Make mistakes.
Get back up.
Cheer for your teammates.
And don’t forget to enjoy it.

You’re not just playing a sport.
You’re growing up. by @thesidelinesurvival

⚾️ Let them talk. You keep playing.

Competitive sports come with trash talk, teasing, opinions, and sometimes words that get under your skin.

The goal isn’t to never hear it.
The goal is to not let it control you.

You don’t need the last word.
You don’t need to prove yourself.
You don’t need to change how you play because someone else is trying to get in your head.

Take a breath. Reset.
Focus on what you can control.

Your attitude.
Your effort.
Your response.

That’s where your power is. 💪⚾️

💭 Not every comment deserves your attention.

Competition can bring out the trash talk, the teasing, the confidence, and sometimes the comments that hit a little harder than someone intended.

And the truth is, every kid handles it differently.

Mental toughness isn’t about pretending you don’t hear it. It’s learning how to decide what deserves space in your head — and what doesn’t.

You don’t have to respond.
You don’t have to prove anything.
You don’t have to let someone else’s words change how you see yourself.

Take a breath. Reset. Focus on your job.

Let your game do the talking. ⚾️

Control your mindset. Don’t hand it over to someone else.
