"It's my fault!
I am often compared to genres like Country or even Bluegrass, because people see more than they hear. If it’s true that clothes don’t make the man, for the next album, I want to distance myself a bit from that strictly American aesthetic, which has misled many of you. Precisely because the album will have much stronger World Music influences, I will try to represent this sound better... even if I've already done the photo shoots."

Vengo spesso accostato a generi come il country o o addirittura il bluegrass, perché la gente vede più che ascoltare. Se è vero che l'abito non fa il monaco, per il prossimo album voglio prendere un po le distanze da quell'stetica prettamente americana, che molti di voi ha mandato fuoti strada. Proprio perché l'album avrà influenze molto più world music, cercherò di rappresentare meglio questo suono... anche se gli shooting li ho già fatti."

This song is freely inspired by Dino Buzzati’s "The Tartar Steppe": the slow, solitary life in Fortezza Bastiani embodies the alienation of modern man, sacrificing his existence in a vain wait. It is a harsh critique of a society that prioritizes duty and productivity over truly living.
But those of us who live by passion must not surrender to this nefarious wind. This is why we are here. This is why we do what we do. At all costs. We will find the strength and guts to do it.

This single marks a new beginning for The Skeleton Crow project and clearly outlines the sound of the upcoming album. For this work, both in terms of sound and vision, I definitely want to distance myself from a purely American aesthetic.
I’m often associated with genres like Country or even Bluegrass, genres that have never been part of this project. I’m opening up the boundaries toward a desert that doesn't have a mere geographical connotation, and like Buzzati’s desert, is purely metaphysical.

To bring the Fortress to life with a strong vision, I overcame budget constraints with creativity: I used technology extensively, but with a massive amount of manual effort and Photoshop, avoiding expensive and polluting "real-world" shoots (like flying to North Africa).
I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I truly believe that, at least locally, nothing like this has ever been done before.

For the dance sequence, I had the honor of hosting the professional Belly Dance teacher and performer, @giorgia.piastra , whose skill was essential to the final result.

I wanted to unite all my productions—from the music to the videos and the graphic design—under a single moniker, given that I handle every aspect. Hansel Kingdom is the name I chose, even though physically, it’s just my attic. A lot of great companies started in garages, so with an attic, I’m already on a higher level! 🙂 I work hard under the watchful eye of my cat, Hansel, who lazily observes me from his "Kingdom."

Il detto dice, non dire "gatto" se non ce l'hai nel sacco.
Nel mio caso potrei dire, non dire "album" se non ce l'hai negli hard disk.
Mi sto davvero uccidendo, un percorso emozionante ma che sta consumando ogni fibra del mio corpo, ma qualcosa sta venendo fuori, difficoltà e cambi di rotta permettendo.
Sono ancora vivo per adesso.
Non è escluso che tra qualche tempo ne possa uscire un piccolo assaggio.
Tifate per me.

Qual è la prima memoria che hai dell'immaginario di David Lynch? Io risponderei: i semafori di Twin Peaks.
Su Italia1 venivano usati come intermezzo per mandare la pubblicità, ne ero intrigato già da allora.
Tutto il mio secondo album è pesantemente immerso in quelle atmosfere, sembra prematuro parlarne oggi, visto che ancora devo completare il primo.
Ma la sua scomparsa mi ha spinto a fare un inchino sin da adesso, preannunciando qualcosa che è gia vivo nella mia mente, ma che inevitabilmente sarà parte di un futuro prossimo.
