My godmother found this little gem of a chair somewhere out east. Painted blue, upholstered with some golden gimp and topped off with a beautiful floral decoupage: this chair was brought back to the 21st century while preserving its historic heritage. by @thesofiacollect

A 90s Bordeaux Kitchen

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of starting a new project and designing a space that’s uniquely yours. But before diving into the details, a few foundational steps can help ensure the final design feels cohesive and intentional.

One of the most valuable is creating a colour board—a curated palette of three to four colours and your key materials that will guide the entire project. As you move into the finer details and begin selecting finishes, you can always return to your board to make sure each decision supports your overall vision.

And remember: there’s never just one right answer in design. The beauty of the process is finding the solution that feels right for you and your space! by @thesofiacollect

Victorian homes have been my absolute favorite ever since Lady and the Tramp!
Here’s a quick look at one I drew, featuring detailed trim, bay windows, a wraparound porch and an overall asymmetrical façade that creates some fun rooflines.

Coast to Coast 🌊

California homes are known for embodying the Spanish Mission style, often characterized by terracotta roof tiles, crisp white stucco walls, and an abundance of graceful arched openings.

On the East Coast, coastal cottages have become an architectural icon. Defined by wraparound porches, weathered cedar shingle siding, and expansive second-story windows, the homes of the Carolinas are instantly recognizable and effortlessly charming. by @thesofiacollect

From the very moment footsteps cross the threshold of your front door, an opinion is made and a lasting mark is left on every newcomer.

So, how can you make the most of that first impression?

Listed below are some Foyer Essentials!!

Good lighting: If lacking natural lighting, try adding a unique lamp or simple but elegant wall sconces to help create a warm welcome.

Mirror🪞: Perfect for one last glance before heading out and reflecting light to additionally illuminate the space.

Console table : Adds depth to your entry while providing a landing spot for everyday essentials and decor.

Key bowl or holder 🗝️: Keep your keys in one designated place so you’re not left searching on the way out!
Ps: a great opportunity to use a fun ceramic bowl!

Shoe cabinet or storage bench: Depending on size, this helps communicate expectations for your guests and what kind of household you keep.

Bench: If space allows, extra seating is always a plus. In smaller foyers, opt for a bench that tucks neatly beneath the console to maximize space while adding warmth and texture.

Umbrella stand 🌂: A practical addition for rainy days that also brings charm and character to your entry.
