Happy August, Ags! Today’s question: What do you get when you combine a generational guitarist with a fitness freak? Ladies and gentlemen, you get this week’s Challenger of the Week, Braden Graves!

A Political Science major from Waco, Braden serves as the chaplain for BCA and a small group leader at Salt City Church. Braden loves to be outdoors whether it’s to shoot or go hunt. And speaking of guns, Braden also enjoys working out and making CrossFit look like light work. As well, this next year Braden will also be a part of 3rd Group Staff!

If you see this Challenger around on campus sometime, remember to give him a Howdy! taken in Texas A&M University by @thesquadron17

Happy Wednesday Ags, it’s time for a new Challenger of the Week! Some say this man invented the shaka 🤙, others say this man has never blinked… Is he natty or not? We don’t know. What we do know is that this week’s COTW is none other than Tyler Wheeler!

Tyler is an Economics major from Pearland, TX who enjoys reading the Bible and riding horses! You can find him atop his trusty steed on game days as a member of the Parsons Mounted Cavalry, where he serves as its chaplain. Additionally, Tyler is involved with Salt City Church and Camp OTX.

If you are lucky enough to meet this Challenger sometime on campus make sure you give him a Howdy! taken in Texas A&M University by @thesquadron17

New week means new Challenger of the Week! We’d like to present this week’s COTW, a man whose hips don’t lie, makes grown men cry, and can’t see well out the eye … Seth Henderson!

As an Aerospace Engineering major from Lake Jackson, Seth enjoys watching F1, spending time with friends, and playing guitar. Not only can he play, but he can dance too! Seth serves as the Songfest chair for BYX and also Squadron 17’s scholastic officer. If you happen to run into Seth on campus, be sure to give this Challenger a Howdy!! taken in Texas A&M University by @thesquadron17

Challenger of the Week is back! And who better to bring it back with than this man… This week’s COTW is THE Brock Ireland!

A supply chain management major from Conroe, Brock loves being outdoors, attempting to golf, and spending time with his buddies. If he’s not repping your max at south side, learning to read, or closing down the chicken, Brock serves as a Platoon Leader, RV Company Tree Platoon Armorer, and a proud member of the Old Army Gentlemen’s Society.

If you’re fortunate enough to run into Brock yourself, be sure to shoot this Challenger a howdy! taken in Texas A&M University by @thesquadron17

Howdy Army!

It’s safe to say the Challengers are coming off a hell of a week. For starters, a lot of the boys got their Aggie Gold and BTHO 90 hours.

4 pissheads received their black hats for Parsons Mounted Cavalry, a key step in their journey to becoming Cav Jocks. And 3 more Challengers received their Maroon Coats.

As if the week hadn’t been good enough already, 17 formed up on Simpson Drill Field with the rest of the Corps to receive unit awards for the year.
- 1st place in the Gates Award for Public Service
- 2nd in the Commandant’s Award for Involvement and Career Readiness
- 3rd in the Jouine Academic Award (turns out we are pretty good at school, who would’ve thought!)
- 3rd in the General Moore Award for the most outstanding outfit in the Corps.

To cap it off, we had our family banquet, an awesome time to come together and reflect on another redass Challenger 17 year.

Was this caption too long? Probably, but so is the list of all of the things Challenger 17 excels in. by @thesquadron17
