Edmonton’s best local comics are going for the big leagues.

The Winnipeg Comedy Festival is currently accepting submissions for its 2027 televised shows, and The Stand Up Show is giving Edmonton comics a chance to put their best material on tape.

For one night only, some of the funniest comics in the city will take the stage to record their 8–10 minute festival submission sets. These are polished, purpose-built sets from comics making a serious push for one of Canada’s biggest comedy festivals.

Come see the material before it potentially makes its way to a national audience.

Featuring some of Edmonton’s best stand-up comics, with each performer bringing their own take on the WCF’s 2027 themes, including relationships, fear, home, work, sleep and the many ways we’re all barely holding it together.

If you love Edmonton comedy, this is a chance to see the next wave of local talent putting their best work forward. taken in Grindstone Theatre by @thestandupshow

This Friday at The Grindstone Theatre, The Stand Up Show is proud to present a very special edition of LOVE AUTOPSY!

Love Autopsy is a live, talk-show-style comedy event where real people revisit past relationships with enough distance to laugh, reflect, and understand what happened. Onstage, guests walk us through how they met, why it worked, where it cracked, and what survived after the breakup. Think: Cold Case Files, but for your heart.

The night is hosted by perpetually single comedian Leif Oleson-Cormack ("The Disney Delusion", Edinburgh Fringe, Seattle Comedy Competition) who will guide the conversation with humor, curiosity, and a desperate need to understand how relationships work.

This month's exes are two comedians who dated and somehow managed to remain colleagues: Dar Germin and Tim Kubasek!

Showtime: 9pm
Tickets: $9 taken in Grindstone Theatre by @thestandupshow

This Friday, The Stand Up Show is proud to present the holdover hit from last year's Edmonton Fringe Festival... Kamal Allaedine's The Art of The Con.

From The Tonight Show to Canada’s Got Talent, comedian Kamal Alaeddine has charmed audiences around the world. Now he’s turning his most audacious real-life hustle into a wildly funny, no-holds-barred solo show: The Art of the Con.

At 20 years old, a young and lazy Kamal discovered that his ample size could be turned into a meal ticket—literally. Conning his way onto government welfare for being “fat,” he set off a chain of scams that would take him from candy factory glory to bizarre run-ins with unexpected danger, deception, and absurd self-discovery.

Packed with jaw-dropping twists, confessional storytelling, and Alaeddine’s razor-sharp wit, The Art of the Con is a masterclass in getting away with it… until you don’t. It’s a hilarious, occasionally shocking reminder that sometimes the “easy” road takes a lot more work.

Written and Performed by Kamal Alaeddine
Directed and Dramaturged by Leif Oleson-Cormack

Praise for the Art of the Con:

"This show is so funny you should pack another set of dry underpants.
Kamal Alaeddine masterfully makes the absurd completely relatable as he winds a wildly hilarious yarn. The quality of his performance ability is revealed during brief breaks in the onslaught of punchlines for moments of wistful reminiscence. "
– ★★★★★, Claire T, Fringe Audience Reviews

“A master storyteller..his jokes are timed well, his physical and prop comedy is on point, his fourth wall breaks and digs at his past left my sides in desperate need of stitches. Go see this show! Its a great one.”
