Hi, I’m reintroducing myself and The Stencil Library partly because it is lovely to reconnect and thank you for following but also because I want to keep the orange and blue photos going a little longer 😆. I have been designing, making and selling stencils alongside my husband Chips since 1988. He’s the hard worker in the back room that gets all your stencils cut. He designs all our collections and the custom work. I do the front of house, the teaching of the classes, the one that answers your emails, wraps and sends your purchases. We decorate the room sets together. I make the videos and the social media posts. Maybe you have been in our classes (new dates coming soon) or created something with our stencils over the years. If so, thank you! Do say Hello and remind me. by @thestencillibrary

Chevrons on top of chevrons. Stencilled…of course. by @thestencillibrary

I was obsessed with this stencil when we designed it and painted so many room sets with it. I have just rediscovered the photos that I took and now I want to stencil more things with it! By the way it’s stencil JA145 Night Fishing. by @thestencillibrary

Following on from the Foo Dog stencils posted yesterday may I introduce you to our Staffordshire Terrier or Wally Dog stencil? Actually, I was looking for one of our many Pug Dog stencils seeing as it is International Pug Day and who wouldn’t want to celebrate the Pug? However, the Wally Dogs came up in my photo library first. So, here they are. They were stencilled onto cotton cushion covers. by @thestencillibrary

The starting and mid point of the Foo Dog stencilled fabric that I showed a few days ago. Fold the fabric in half to find the centre point and work symmetrically from there. The paints are acrylic and washable on fabric. by @thestencillibrary

Sometimes I want a colourful cheerful project to warm the winter months and these canal art stencils might be just the thing to help. At the moment I’m thinking of decorated buckets and planters filled with bulbs to give to garden friends but there are so many surfaces that could be decorated in the barge painting style! If you change the bright colours for pastels it gives a more Northern European look to the decoration. We designed the collection in the early 1980s, we still make the stencils. And all the pieces in picture 2 apart from the plate are still in use. I broke the plate! by @thestencillibrary

Here’s two blue foos for your delectation. Our Foo Dog stencil has been stencilled onto a linen cushion cover from @ikeauk I folded the cover in half and made a crease, that crease became the central line to work from. The motif was aligned with the centre crease, it was stencilled and then I flipped the stencil over and used the reverse side for the facing motif, again this was aligned with the centre crease. The ‘DO2 Foo Dog’ is a multi layer stencil and I chose to paint them over pattern of flames stencilled in a vivid red acrylic paint. by @thestencillibrary

Here’s my stencil of the day suggestion, it’s our BW25 stencil. A traditional style flower and ribbon design. Swipe to see how I used this stencil in my home. by @thestencillibrary

Yes, I know it needs ironing but I had the urge to show you how gorgeous linen looks when stencilled. by @thestencillibrary

It's an oldie but worth another look. I stencilled wallpaper and fabric in my favourite Chinoiserie style for a delightful customer in County Durham, England. by @thestencillibrary

I am wondering whether the larger version of our 274-Pomegranates stencil is destined for an area between picture rail and ceiling cornice. It’s going to a customer in Australia who does beautiful decoration and restoration work. It would look gorgeous just above the hemline on curtains too. by @thestencillibrary
