Just 5 years ago, I could barely go 1 week without buying a new item of clothing. I felt out of control, ashamed, and worst of all…

Unable to feel happy with what I had because clothes had become a replacement for confidence, entertainment, and self-care.

Shopping made me feel like I was becoming a “better version” of myself but that never happened… meanwhile it harmed my finances, sense of style, and relationship with myself.

And after finally figuring out how to fix that & get in control of my shopping habits… I started sharing about it so other women could do it too.

Okay let’s be HONEST…

I feel a little conflicted posting this today.

Because you probably don’t need another reminder to “just stop shopping.”

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve heard these mantras many times before.

And maybe they helped you resist one impulse buy... but you’d rather not have to “resist” at all, right?

You’d rather just BE an intentional shopper that isn’t constantly tempted by every new trend, seasonal collection, or influencer on social media.

And yet somehow, you keep finding yourself back in the same cycle.

That’s because changing your shopping habits takes more than willpower, another budget, or promising yourself you’ll “be good” this month.

You need to understand what keeps pulling you back into it... AND have a new way of shopping to replace those old habits with.

That’s exactly what I’m teaching live this Tuesday, October 6th.

(Comment SPENDY right now and I’ll sent you the link to save your seat!) 💃💃

It’s a FREE 90-minute workshop with real guided exercises, where you’ll discover the 4 proven steps to stop overspending on clothes so you can save money for what matters most... without giving up your love of fashion or never buying clothes again.

These are the same steps I used to break my decade-long shopping addiction, pay off $40,000 of debt, and completely change my relationship with shopping.

If you’re tired of constantly telling yourself “I won’t buy anything today” only to end up back in the same cycle...

If you can’t stop shopping even though you *know* you want to, there’s a reason.

When shopping becomes compulsive, it’s no longer just about clothes or money. There’s an emotional and psychological attachment to shopping that can’t be undone by simply deciding to “be better,” making another budget, or promising yourself you’ll stop.

Because if those things worked... you probably would have stopped already.

To actually change your shopping habits for good, you have to address what’s driving the cycle at the root.

There are 4 key steps that helped me do exactly that.

They’re the same steps I used to break my decade-long shopping addiction, pay off $40,000 of credit card debt, and completely change my relationship with clothes.

Today, I buy fewer, better things. I can enjoy fashion without constantly overspending. And I actually feel good about the way I shop.

On Tuesday, October 6, I’m teaching these 4 steps in a FREE live workshop so you can start applying them to your own shopping habits.

If you’re tired of knowing you need to change but not knowing how to actually make it stick, you’ll want to be there.

“I can always return it.”
“I’ll figure out how to pay for it later.”
“I’ve been so good lately.”
“I don’t want it to sell out.”

When you’re stuck in a cycle of overspending on clothes, you get REALLY good at finding ways to make the purchase feel okay in the moment.

But then the packages start showing up. 📦

You have returns sitting by the door that you need to make.

You’re checking your credit card balance and wondering how it got that high AGAIN. 💳

You’re moving money around or telling yourself you’ll spend less next month.

And even when you can technically “make it work,” there’s this constant tension in the background.

Because this isn’t how you WANT to shop.

You want to be someone who can love clothes without constantly thinking about buying them.

Someone who feels excited about a package arriving instead of slightly guilty.

Someone who buys what she genuinely loves, can afford, and will actually wear. 💃

But no matter how many times you promise yourself you’ll “be better” next month... you keep ending up back in the same cycle.

If this feels a little too familiar, I’m teaching a FREE live workshop on Tuesday (October 6th) on how to finally stop overspending on clothes so you can save money for what matters most 📅 🎥

I’ll be sharing the 4-phase approach that broke my shopping addiction & got me to a place where I’m saving 30% of my income after YEARS of being a shopaholic.

See you there x by @thestyleaudit

Taking control of your shopping habits isn’t about getting better at saying “no.”

It’s about understanding WHY you want to buy… and learning what to do when that urge shows up. 🛍️

That’s how you change your shopping habits (from the inside out).

Instead of fighting yourself on every purchase… you start *wanting* to buy less, naturally.

So if you’re tired of having a “good reason” for every purchase (but no explanation for where your money went)…

Comment DRESS to take my free quiz that will tell you what’s behind your shopping habits AND how to fix it. by @thestyleaudit

I used to look at my closet and think: I need more.

The jacket that would pull everything together. The dress I’d feel amazing in. The shoes that would make my outfits look like the people I compared myself to on social media.

So I kept shopping.

But no matter how much I bought, I somehow kept ending up in the same place… staring at a closet full of clothes and feeling like it was missing something.

Then I stopped shopping for 90 days.

And without the constant stream of new clothes coming in, I had no choice but to actually work with what I already owned.

At first, I it was hard. But slowly, I started feeling differently.

I pulled out pieces I’d forgotten about. I tried combinations I never would have thought of before. I started noticing which clothes I genuinely loved wearing (and which ones I’d only bought because I loved buying them).

And eventually, my closet started to feel exciting again… without anything new being added to it.

That’s when I realized something:

My wardrobe had never been the real problem.

Constant shopping was keeping me so focused on what I DIDN’T have that I couldn’t appreciate, understand, or get creative with what I did.

The more I chased “new” the less satisfying each new piece had become.

If you keep buying more clothes but somehow NEVER feel satisfied with your wardrobe, you probably don’t need to buy anything.

You need to break the pattern that keeps you THINKING you do.

Because once you understand what’s causing you to over-shop, you can finally start changing it.

The worst part of overshopping isn’t the money you spend.

It’s the cost to your time, relationships, and peace of mind.

Did you need to “find your taste” to know what food you like?

No. And personal style is the same.

Despite what billion-dollar retail companies would like you to believe… you don’t need to “find” or “build” your personal style all over again every season.

Just notice what you love, and embrace it! 🫒 by @thestyleaudit
