Finally watched this spy thriller classic movie.The production feels big and has a good cast, but the execution of the plot is rather dull and restricted, lacking the dynamic and pace of contemporary similar movies, like the James Bond films.The sets and special effects look fake and old fashioned and the story has too many dead time.Rock Hudson, although good looking and imposing, seems unsuitable for the lead role. At least Patrick McGoohan is quite cool as the British secret agent.Now I understand why the movie failed with critics and audiences at its time.Considering I’m not Howard Hughes, the movie was just a disappointment.#icestationzebra #spythriller #alistairmaclean #rockhudson #spymovie by @thestyleisnotenough

I came to this series expecting a decent comedy with a good cast, but wow! It’s excellent!The topics that it touches are well done, avoiding both schmaltz and silliness, with a correct balance between serious drama and lighthearted moments.All the cast is perfect, but Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer shine in their roles. The movie has a sense of grandeur but it doesn’t feel really epic, even if it has some massive sequences. Besides, it follows the trend of modern movies and the colour and lighting is desaturated and grey, even dark in long passages.The multi-ethnic cast is jarring, although, as a fantasy film based on a mythological story, it’s not a great issue, considering there’s no such thing as historical accuracy.Nonetheless, what there are are curious casting choices and uneven performances.Also, the score is just a pounding noise and the end credits song is dreadful.In the end, it’s a good but drab movie, far from the masterpiece that some people is claiming it is.#theodyssey #christophernolan #fantasymovie #greekmythology #moviefan by @thestyleisnotenough
