Here's my #26springggc entry. Comp SBD is not in my program right now and probably won't be for a while so I wasn't sure what I wanted to do today. Figured we'd just try to have some fun and make up some goals as we went along.

Squat: 315 x 1@8.5
Bench: 225 x 3@9.5 (Rep PR)
Deadlift: 445 x 1@10 (15lb PR)

Like I said, I didn't have a plan today, lol. I hit a smooth sub-max squat and moved on to bench. I had never been programmed doubles on bench, so I wanted to see if I could double 225. Tripled it instead for a rep PR! And then deadlift had been close to PR territory my previous two training cycles so I figured we'd see what we could get today. I pulled off a miracle. If I miss my top set on deadlift, I have never gotten it on a subsequent attempt. And I have tried many times in the past. Somehow, today, we got 445 on my third attempt for a 15lb PR! Absolutely stoked! by @thetater13

Thank you to Joe @garagegymcompetition who makes this happen. by @thetater13

Decided to do something different for the Fall 2024 #garagegymcompetition after being inspired by another competitor's floor press to front squat to deadlift complex.

I just got back from a hurricane relief deployment and I haven't trained all week. Rather than put up some RPE 7s or 8s, I thought I'd try something I've never done before. It wasn't that heavy, but man was that Steinborn squat tricky as hell. It took about 5 tries to figure out how to actually get it on my back.

So there you go. A 135lb Steinborn squat to push press to one-arm deadlift. by @thetater13

Spring 2024 #garagegymcompetition entry. I didn't get to peak for this one. Training has been on the back burner lately as work has been a little crazy the past 3 months. I have been doing what I can when I can. But I still wanted to participate. So the two days I got to train this week, I just tried to work up to an RPE 8 for each.

Squat: 325 @7.5
Bench: 225 @8
Deadlift: 405 @7.5

That'll have to do for now. We'll see if we can peak for the fall. by @thetater13

Fall 2023 #garagegymcompetition submission.
Squat: 350 @9 (tied PR)
Bench: 250 @10 (10lb PR)
Deadlift: 430 @9 (5lb PR)

This is the first time I have peaked for the GGC, and I was so pleasantly surprised how things turned out. The last 5 months of training have not been very good due to some big life changes. Most of the time I only got 3 out of 4 sessions in a week, and a lot of accessories were skipped due to time constraints. This is the first week I've actually gotten to train in my garage gym since the move. I've been commuting to a commercial gym for the last 3 months. I don't even have a platform built yet, thus the mix of bumper plates and steel plates for deadlift.

Still somehow squat got to all time strength levels. After hitting 350, I should have taken a 7.5lb PR on squat but I got too excited and went for 365. I think the strength was there, but I got intimidated taking that weight into the hole and got buried twice. Next time!

Bench was great (minus my half a second pause). After hitting a competition grip PR of 245 at RPE 10, I decided to do a science experiment. This last block I was given close grip bench as a bench variation and I discovered that my close grip is significantly stronger than my wider grip. Despite redlining comp grip the attempt before, I put another 5lbs on my bench with close grip. Enjoy the massive back cramp I gave myself after that rep. I swear it felt like I got the wind knocked out of me 😆

Deadlift is ol' reliable. The session I missed the most these past months was my secondary deadlift day and it did not appear to be progressing at all as a result. Somehow despite all of that and the massive back cramp I gave myself during bench, a fairly easy 5lb deadlift PR was there today.

All told this was a 15lb total PR. Thanks @datadrivenstrength ! Hopefully, more consistent training is coming now that the garage gym is getting put back together. by @thetater13

Been trying to manage some nagging low back pain and left hip pain the last few weeks, so we're keeping it pretty tame for the #garagegymcompetition . That being said, I was surprised how things moved.

S: 305# x 1@6 Anything much over 300# seems to aggravate my left side. This moved OK.

B: 225# x 1@7 Two wheels has never moved so fast on bench. Two fitty is going to fall soon.

DL: 405 x 1@8.5 This was pretty cool. I've pulled more than this during mock meets, but never this high in training. I've felt like I could just walk in and pull a casual 405 for about 4 weeks, but I was afraid to test it. This used to be a PR a few training cycles ago. Now it moves like this. Sorry for the non-family friendly word. by @thetater13

Here's my #garagegymcompetition entry for the fall. This was a deload week for me so no maxes to show off, but it is still pretty cool seeing these weights at lower RPEs. I forgot to record my comp squat so we're going to use a squat variation. Beltless pause squat 275 @ RPE 6, comp pause bench 215 @ RPE 6, deadlift 365 @ RPE 6. by @thetater13

It's time for the annual #garagegymcompetition post. I had planned to actually peak for the competition this year, but a series of injuries put me off schedule. It's been a challenging road back to feeling really good again. This is the strongest and healthiest I've felt since before the injuries started so I decided it would be best to stay on program. Shout out to @barbell_medicine and their free educational materials on pain and injury, and shout out to @datadrivenstrength and #ddsip for the training. This week called for 1@7 on all 3 lifts so that's what we stuck to. 305lb x1@7 on squat, 205lbs x1@7 on bench, and 365lbs x1@7 on deadlift. by @thetater13

The final week of a volume block while cutting (down 10lbs) was not ideal timing to hit heavy singles but I wanted to get in on this year’s #garagegymcompetition . I felt like trash this week, so I planned to hit some moderate 1@7-8s for all three but everyone of them moved like 1@9-9.5. I’ll program around GGC next year so I can come in peaked and try to put up some PRs. S - 305#, B - 205#, D - 365# @ 176# by @thetater13
