What does “inheritance” mean to you?

I was honored to join the “Inheritance” cast of @writersreadorg and read my story. ✍🏻

Writers Read said, “In this tender and deeply relatable personal essay, Tess Clarkson returns home after her mother’s death searching for a treasured pumpkin bread recipe that shaped her childhood. As memories of brown-paper packages and quiet acts of care resurface, she discovers that some inheritances aren’t found in kitchen drawers—they’re found in the ways we learn to nurture ourselves.”

Celebrating our wedding anniversary! ♥️🥂

After a fortuitous swipe right, my life changed in ways I never imagined. ♥️ My mom always asked me to return home from New York City. She (and a few others!) certainly ensured I did! 🪽

I’m grateful for our dads for connecting us and for our team of amazing people - both family and the friends who are family - for helping us. ♥️🪽I’m grateful for all the adventures both near and far that I have had with my best friend and for being able to love him and receive his love. ♥️

We are forever indebted to our Sedona elopement photographers @stacyburkphotography and @nitziamcelrath ♥️📸

✍🏻 my first published essay was @washingtonpost about meeting my husband when I returned to Missouri to take care of my dad

With the energy of the solar eclipse in my 1st house, I’m taking extra time to meditate and think about what I want to create in my life. ♌️
