Luckily a migrant berry picker passing through took a family pic for us when the drones didn’t want to fly. Know we all laughed. Pretty sure most of us cried a time or two. @blanco.river.meat.company has a lot of extended family now. 🤘🏽 taken in Center Point Volunteer Fire Department by @thetfont

Delayed flight home. I already miss not seeing Kerry or Mary at the hangar hub today. Bittersweet. Didn’t even realized we moved 12-15% of the Statesville hub inventory over four days. Still amazed how they stepped up with no prior experience and ran the most well oiled machine I’ve ever seen. . by @thetfont

Exhausted at night. Tired in the mornings. We are losing Cheryl and Kite tomorrow for the week, but she wants to come back with her sonar boat and other gear to help us keep finding the missing and chip away at that 150+ we are still at. We’ve been successful with them by our side and it’s not sad for us because we know what it means to the families. Tomorrow is an all out let’s get the craziest plan ever executed to get this next one out. No quit. No therapy. All we need is another day out there. One day at a time.

Just. Keep. Going. 🔵🔴⚫️ taken in Center Point, Texas by @thetfont

If I’m being active again I guess we can hard launch. 18 years in the making. Lots of breaks. Third time is the charm from what I’m told. I’m happy and it’s based off simple rules: someone who doesn’t let their trauma define them and in return doesn’t let your own define you, someone who is funny while competing with a world class joker, and finally someone that feels safe with you around while you feel the same. If it isn’t effortless it’s not it. If the past is a problem it’s not it. Red string theory. She still looks at me like she did in 2009. by @thetfont

A year ago, after the July 4 floods, I joined my regular search and rescue gang. For over a month, we searched alongside a cadaver dog for the missing.

For the babies.

Eventually, we all had to return to our real lives, though many of us almost didn’t. We kept going back, hoping to find the last missing little girl.

Eventually, I had to come home to my own boys, carrying a grief that never really left.

My heart breaks every day for the parents. And for the families who were never reunited with the people they loved, it breaks even more. Not a day goes bad that I don’t think of them.

As we sit here today, that last missing camper has still not been found. None of those families have the answers they deserve. And no one has been held accountable for the decisions and failures in judgment over the decades that led up to that terrible day.

I hope those parents know this: They have not been forgotten. There are still so many people fighting for them, remembering their children, and hoping that one day they receive the truth, the accountability, and the peace they deserve.

And to my friends who would have swum one more river, climbed one more hill, or searched one more day until they simply couldn’t anymore…I’m so grateful to know you. ❤️

The Willy Wonka of Lemonade got the call to be put in the game by coach. I’ll be down Friday to BS with the Centerpoint family before showing them what a real athlete looks like in kickball. Maybe rile up a little 7on7 football game to make it rain.

I know my Houston people can win the car show. Them boys make some damn good BBQ so enter at your own risk. Raising money for a good cause one last time before K9 Kite gets all my attention. taken in Center Point, Texas by @thetfont

Carolina K-9 Tactical Search And Rescue is officially a registered 501c3 as of this week. Cheryl and I are both kind of busy right now, but K9 Kite the Hill country legend, the new HRD addition in training K9 Seeker, and live find K9 Zeke are now the poster children of a recognized non-profit.

From what Chat GPT is telling me my job as VP is to look pretty and help them raise money for disaster deployments and cold cases. I’ve got the first part down. by @thetfont

Left at 5am. Just getting home. Been in a funk since we left after 6 weeks of running K9 Kite. Wore my SCK9SAR shirt today to rep what made the difference there. Kite is a legend in Hill Country. Sold some lemonades in bulk that went straight to Arturo Ramón II’s wife and kids. In total I think just in cash Harry Holt put on an event that raised $58,800 for them. That man got thrown into the fire and was a phoenix. I don’t think we will ever have support like that again to go as long as we did. Everyone said therapy and we said we get that running tomorrow again and again. Talking to his wife today I think it all came full circle. He had a woman that supported his work while easing his doubts in himself. Almost a decade doing this across the country and this was different. I needed that conversation and hug to close the chapter on all we did there. The last thing Carolina K-9 Tactical Search And Rescue and I did before driving to the airport for them to go home was to go try and find Arturo in Hunt and say goodbye to the man that was the glue to it all. I’ve made family across the nation storm by storm, but Center Point hit different. My heart is there until we bust through the gates of hell again in the next one God calls us into. 🤘🏽 by @thetfont
