Border Run 2024 was a defining battle in my journey as an individual and as an ultra runner, marking a year where in I had given my all and achieved over 90% of my lifetime running volume. Signing up for this race in Jaisalmer was a dream realized, as I dedicated months to training—both mentally and physically—pushing my limits beyond what I thought possible. Until Q1 2024, I never envisioned distances beyond a half marathon, but this journey has transformed my perspective.

Taking a DNF from my 100-mile race was a tough decision after reaching the 100 km mark. Unfortunately, my blisters worsened, and I had to accept that I wasn’t in the best condition to treat them and cannot run beyond. However the experience taught me invaluable lessons to push boundaries and adapt to situations even if they involve failure. This setback is more precious than any medal, reminding me that even with preparation, outcomes are often beyond our control.

Congratulations to all participants for embracing this challenge!

Heartfelt Thanks

@awakeningwithgeeta : Thank you for being my pillar of strength and joining me as my crew. I couldn’t have asked for more!

@vishvamoza : It was awesome meeting you, bro! Thanks for helping me treat my blisters. #HumSabPagalHai

@n_sr.in n @aironsamarth : Training with both of you was fantastic; every session was filled with endorphins!

@shiv.s.mahato n @_vishal_verma27 : I loved every moment spent with you both during this trip—whether sipping tea, enjoying pakodas, or recalibrating our pacing strategy during the race.

@fittechrunner_anil : It was amazing to catch up with you @sagiisachin and your team.

@idsandeep : I can’t thank you enough for sharing your wisdom throughout my training. I owe it all to you!

@fakkadkalam : Thank you for beautifully curating this challenging experience for all of us. I loved every moment—You are indeed #GodsBadBoy! 🙌

Big thanks to all friends, well-wishers and the fellow members of @raftaartheclub and @gurgaonrunners who have supported me in this journey ..🙏

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined me on #LetsMakeGurgaonWalkable a remarkable initiative with 24-hour walk dedicated towards runners, walkers, cyclists, where I contributed 100kms on 🦶 towards the cause 🙏

Together, we walked not just for ourselves but for those who can no longer walk among us and for those who face daily challenges on our roads. Every step we took was a powerful reminder of our community’s strength and the impact we can make when we unite for a common cause.

While one event alone won’t change everything, these experiences have highlighted our collective responsibility towards pedestrian safety and even if the 75+ participants are sensitised - It’s a job well done !

(Checkout my key learnings in comments after spending 24 hrs on the road)

Let’s keep this momentum going! Share your stories, advocate for safer streets, and keep the conversation alive in our communities.

Thank you team @raahgiri_fdn and @sarikapandabhatt for this opportunity !!

Can’t thank enough team @raftaartheclub and @gtt_gurgaontrektribe for your whole hearted support

Some races are measured in kilometres.
Some are remembered for what they stand for. 🇮🇳

From being part of the Ambassador Wall to running alongside thousands of runners, collecting the medal and standing in front of the story of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, this one felt bigger than a timing on the watch.

A race. A Legacy.

Grateful to have been part of the Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2026 — not just as a runner, but as an ambassador.

Kudos to @cyrunssports and @sekhoniafmarathon for a wonderfully organised race. Here’s to seeing it grow bigger and soar higher with every edition.

Run. Soar. Inspire. 🇮🇳

It's like walking all the way from Gurgaon to Neemrana—an incredible 100 km—but you accomplished this within Gurgaon in just 24 hours! That's truly phenomenal, Shobhit Khattar!

We are incredibly proud to have you (@thethinkingninja) as our #WalkAmbassador. Your inspiring 24-hour walk, culminating at AIT Chowk on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (#WDoR24), has sparked essential conversations about pedestrian safety and motivated us to strive for #safer, more #inclusive streets for everyone. In total, 78 runners clocked an impressive 1,602 kms, and 7 cyclists added 364 km to the journey - what an amazing turnout!

Your narration of the experience was thought-provoking, shining a light on critical issues like how drunk and rash driving at night put #pedestrians, regardless of age or gender, at grave risk. This stark reminder emphasizes the urgent need for action.

But identifying challenges is only the beginning. Let’s keep working towards practical solutions—safer, walkable streets, cleaner air, and #sustainable, pedestrian-friendly infrastructure.

Thank you, Shobhit, for championing this cause with such passion. Let’s continue moving forward toward streets that truly #LeaveNoOneBehind.

Harvest Gold Global Race 2026

Had an amazing run today at the Harvest Gold Global Race — a race that has always been special to me and this year was no different. ❤️

This one was even more special because Geeta joined me back on the tarmac after a 15-month gap, following the arrival of our newest runner princess in the family. 👑🏃‍♀️

Beyond the race, it was wonderful catching up with old friends, meeting familiar faces, and soaking in the energy and smiles all along the route. That’s what makes races like @harvestgoldglobalrace special. ❤️

Coming to the race report:
No PB today, but I’m genuinely happy with how I handled the race.

I went in with a clear target of 55 minutes, but early on I could see my HR climbing close to my LT. Instead of forcing the pace and risking a complete blow-up, I backed off, managed the effort and tried to salvage the best possible finish.

Finished HGGR 2026 in 58:24, compared with 57:04 in 2025 and 56:32 in 2024. So yes, there’s a declining trend in performance but an upward ⬆️ trend in understanding my body better.

But that’s racing — as I always say, every race can’t be a PB, and there’s always a different “why” for being part of it. Today, the win isn’t the timing; it’s learning to read your body, make the right call, and finish strong. 💪🏃‍♂️

Back to training. 💪🏃‍♂️

A big shoutout to @harvestgoldindia and @bimboglobalrace for continuing to champion the cause year after year, and to @cyrunssports for being a fantastic partner in bringing the running community together.
❤️🏃‍♂️

Tuffman Delhi HM —
badhaya hai garmi! 🥵😂

I knew the WHY of this race, and I knew this wasn’t going to be a PB race. August humidity had already made that pretty clear.

But standing on the start line, the narrative somehow changed. Because as a runner, you still think about a sub-2 even when you know it isn’t the day for a PB. Just like middle-class Indian dreams of roti, kapda aur makaan. 😂

I started with the sub-2 goal pace, but within the first 5K, the HR started climbing faster than I would have liked. And that’s when the first round of negotiations began between the pace, the body and the mind.

Revision 1:
“Okay, forget sub-2 for now. Just keep it under 6:00/km.”

That worked… for a while.

By 10K, the body had clearly decided this was FM pace, not HM pace. 😐

Fortunately, Delhi decided to negotiate from its side too. The second half brought cooler air, a little drizzle and some much-needed relief from the humidity. The race became considerably more enjoyable, although holding the pace was still getting increasingly difficult.

Revision 2:
“Fine. Forget sub-6. Can we at least hold 6:30?”

That deal also started looking expensive.

By the last 3K, there was no more negotiating. Just push and get it home.

We eventually closed the deal at sub-6:40/km, with whatever was left in the tank.

Beyond my own race, I thought Tuffman Delhi HM was very professionally managed excellent hydration support, a clean and well-managed route, good race-day energy, post-race nutrition and plenty of small details that showed the organisers had thought about the runner experience.

And yes… the fans. 😂

After 21.1K of negotiating with Delhi’s humidity, those giant fans felt less like race infrastructure and more like a public service. 🥵🌀

Not the PB. Not the sub-2. But probably a more useful race than either would have been.

Some days you execute the plan.
Some days the conditions rewrite it.

Today, Delhi did the rewriting.

Thanks @kapil.ee06 and @n_sr.in for the great company and for turning the race into a feast! 🏃‍♂️🏅🍽️😂

45 Km to celebrate 45 ! 🏃🎂

A 45K birthday run felt like the perfect way to celebrate this milestone. Every kilometre was a reminder of how far the journey has come before entering walking a KM used to be a task at and how much farther it can go.

P.S. I turned 45 three days ago. The run was delayed—not the celebration. 😉
