If you can’t say anything polite, come sit next to me and I’ll teach you how.

The future continuous. It softens questions, adds elegance, and politely avoids interrogating someone’s intentions.

How to form it:
will + be + verb-ing

Examples:
– When will you be leaving? (Not pushy. Just curious. Perhaps.)
– I won’t be attending the dinner. (Regretful, not rude.)
– Will you be using that chair all evening? (A polite prod, not a demand.)

Compare:
– “When will you leave?” = direct, abrupt.
– “When will you be leaving?” = civilised, discreetly edged.

Use liberally—and with a raised eyebrow.

Thrilled to share that my second original short film, Skin Hunger, has been selected as a finalist for the SF3 Film Festival (@sf3fest), taking place at the Sydney Opera House this January.

Written by me and co-directed and co-produced with the brilliant @lena_mary_fellows

Out of over 400 submissions, Skin Hunger is one of just sixteen films chosen to screen—a story about care, isolation, and the human hunger for touch.

More soon as we prepare to travel down under for the festival 🇦🇺

What does it mean to care for someone in today’s society?

Skin Hunger is a small window into the modern pressures of social care, ageing, dementia, and the need for human touch in an increasingly sterile world.

What an incredibly talent-packed film festival of which to have been to be a part ❤️

I feel honoured to have been selected amongst other creatives, telling their stories and showcasing their craft.

Thank you to Angela Blake for organising such a slick @sf3fest. I very much hope to see you next year 🇦🇺❤️ taken in Sydney Opera House by @thethomasfinch

December ‘25 on film. Celebrating the birthdays of @carli_withaneye and @samrowetogo. Angels in America because lord knows we need them right now. Eating sublime gelato from @icecreamlab whilst walking—was felt like a thousand miles—through the bracing streets of New York talking as if we were in a Richard Linklater film. Being reunited with @isabel.lamers in LA. Wearing my first top hat. Christmas with family and a whole lot of love. Not every photo turned out perfectly, but life’s a bit like that ❤️ taken in New York City by @thethomasfinch
