One year ago, we had the honor of helping the Burkhart family during one of the hardest times of their lives. ❤️
Mike was in need of a heart transplant and needed his home completed so he would have a safe, clean place to recover after surgery. Before Mike became sick, he had started a tile project himself, but once his health declined, he was no longer able to finish it. Being unable to work also meant there were no extra funds to hire help.
That’s when our community stepped in.
With the support of The Tile Chick, LLC, 4 East Mayo Clinic nurses, Official Lions Without Borders Lions Club, Leslie with QEP, and Randy with Xpress Junk Removal, we came together to raise money for tile and materials, gather donated tools, volunteer our time, and complete 830 sq. ft. of tile installation at no cost to the Burkhart family.
Today, we’re so happy to share that Mike received his heart transplant, fought through a long recovery, and almost exactly one year later made it to Disneyland with his family. 🙌❤️
This is what community looks like. When people come together, lives are changed.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.
