Yuri Gohen is a singer, guitarist, banjoist, writer, and archivist of traditional folksong.

Inspired by diverse works, from the Harry Smith Anthology to the freak-folk of Michael Hurley, his 2025 full-length Who Killed Cock Robin has been called “a statement of intent from an artist clearly operating at the height of his considerable powers”.

Yuri aims to showcase the relevance of folksong to the modern world; both as an invaluable record of our shared history and as the fluid wellspring from which our shared present flows. The Authenticity that shows up every day for me at the #moravianpotteryandtileworks in Doylestown can feel like the work of a magician. The honesty of material, the dignity of labor, and the humanity embued, in the space and in the tiles prevails. The same old, same old, feels new every day. Carrying the vision of our founder forward does not feel like a burden ,it’s a gift. Every time we open the kiln, each tile reveals a fresh new iteration of all the tiles that came before it. #fortheloveoftile Come experience the alchemy of Tile making at the #moravianpotteryandtileworks. Henry Mercer pivoted from being an archaeologist and became a full-blown Tile Maker as a midlife career change. In reaction to the industrialization of the country, Mercer was disturbed by the disappearance of potteries near him that produced #Pennsylvaniaredware. He devoted his time from 1899 til his death in 1930,to the honesty of material, the dignity of labor and the humanity evident in the perfectly imperfect Tiles. Today we embrace the ethos and culture of making handmade tile one at a time. #slowtile by @thetileworks
