1. I’m halfway to my 50’s 🧓🏽

2. I love beans a lot! 🤤

3. I love kind and sensitive people❤️

4. I’m a sweet and funny girl. My family and friends will never admit it😏 but I know it, and they know it too 🌚. The circle is small but everyone feels the love🤗

5. My favorite color is Green! ☘️

6. I am sarcastic, witty and very eccentric 🤪

7. I can be veryyy reserved, most times it’s taken for pride, my facial expression doesn’t help, but oh well🤷🏽‍♀️😂

8. I fry and cook yam with sugar 🙈 e sweet die!

9. I love late night snacking, cuddling(even if it’s my pillow), sweet smelling people, crime films, cartoons, credit alerts, and babies🥰

10. My battery is always low (my phone was on 13% typing this) 🤧

11. I’m the least impulsive person alive, I play out every scenario in my head to figure the best and worst case before it happens 🧐

12. I can cook almost anything with crayfish(even fried eggs and indomie) 😂

13. I’ve been heartbroken twice💔

14. I drink a lot of water, which makes me weewee a lot, which keeps me busy, so I mostly don’t have time for things that don’t concern me, loro kan, I do mind my business 💯

15. I can’t stay mad for too long 😭

16. 80% of the time I stare at my phone while it rings till it stops then I text the person to ask “what’s up?” 🤓I’m not a fan of phone calls, especially when there are no earphones. If I’ve stayed long on the phone with you, you’re one of a kind 🏆

17. I teach children Sunday school 👩🏽‍🏫

18. I’m a total sucker for Coca-Cola 🖤

A lot has changed since last year (as I predicted 😄), but I’m still here, still learning about myself, and learning to love every version of me that shows up daily.

I’m absolutely grateful to God, and I’m sat (prettily btw 😌), and expectant of all that will unfold in the new year 🎈 by @thetimeyin

And 18 years later...

We still somehow become dramatically dumber when we’re together 😂 We laugh at absolutely nothing and everything, completely unprovoked. So many inside jokes from all our years together that all it takes is one look, and we’re both gone 😂🤎

We’ve watched each other become the women we prayed we’d be. We are still celebrating each other’s wins, carrying each other’s burdens, and still have front-row seats to each other’s growth through every high (very high), every low (babanla low 😭) and everything in between.

We are still trusting each other with our stories and secrets and never had a reason to regret it.

We have never expected each other to stay the same. We keep making room for every new version, growth, change, and we keep choosing the friendship.

Commercial break 😂

Through every season, we’ve found our way back to each other. Even when life changed. Even when we fought. Even when we disagreed. Even when distance, busyness, or different seasons could have pulled us apart...the friendship remained.

We are still in awe of how special it is to have someone you never have to perform for. We can be loud, quiet, silly, serious, and completely ourselves...and somehow that’s always enough.

We’re still easily making ordinary days feel like core memories.
Stopping to buy Bole on the roadside✅
Looking for Choki-Choki in random supermarkets✅
Buying Eja-kika to make fried stew✅
Cooking indomie the way the other person does and sending photos✅
Celebrating each other’s birthday even if they’re over 5000kms away✅
So many memories that I can’t recount.

If I could choose again, I’d still choose you as my best friend every single time.

I’II still choose those days in Shomolu where we sang in the choir and bought t-shirts for Hi-Week every year, and those Ankara dresses that mummy Nwanma always sewed for us to wear on 1st Sundays 🥹

I’ll still choose those days in Obiwunmi where we all gathered to watch
“Oremi Jack Bauer” while eating yam and fried stew.

I’ll still choose those Sundays in my house where we ate rice and stew and boiled eggs to ti muta!.

POV – La jolie fille est en vacances ✨

I spoke to a “I speak English small small” man, and he said “You tall and fine”, and the way I whipped out the “Merci Beaucoup” you’d think I was a native speaker 😄
