Holy mother of god lol. Well first and foremost, I finally found content for this sound 😆😆😆.

Today I drove up to @earthandtreeminiatures and my goodness. What a damn treat. I spent over 2 hours there, and honestly I could have spent even longer but I brought my mom and well, she’s not a miniaturist lol.

You guys. If you are anywhere near New Hampshire you have to make a destination trip here. The store has been here for over 40 years, it’s family run, and they own a mill. The mill is where they make many of the dollhouses you see here. They also offer lighting classes. They do have a lot of things online, but it’s nothing near to their in store inventory. It is humongous. Like next level. Room after room of everything you could dream of.

Everything is really well priced — running the gamut from .50 cents up to thousands of dollars. They have a sale room, and that alone would have been enough for me.

I’m thinking I might do a live to share everything I bought??! Should I do that? You guys are going to scream at what I got.

I’ll post more videos in my stories. I think I should plan a bus trip from Boston up there. Who’s in 🤣🤣🤣

Also, one last thing. Good customer service is my kink lol. So I have to shout out the staff. They were so sweet and chill. One of the women recommended I pull up a share and look over their pile of Dollhouse Miniatures and Miniature Collector to look for tutorials. Each magazine was $1 buck! I bought 6. 🤪🤣🤣🤣

Ok friends. I did it. I’m locked in lol. I bought this dollhouse on FB Marketplace (that place is a gold mine btw) and I’m in. I’m going to refurbish and refurnish it with mostly things I build jonahhillscreaming.gif

Huge shout out to @houseof.viridian for encouraging me and making me see there’s many ways to create little worlds of miniatures!

Questions for those of you who have been at this much longer than me:

What books should I get?

Who should I follow for techniques and tutorials?

What sites should I visit for materials?

My third 1:12 miniature is almost complete! This has taken me 4 days to get to this point. I have one last step, adding the top of the hutch.

I’m creating my first room box/diorama and this hutch will be the focal point. It’s going to be a spooky scene but more like Glinda the Good Witch meets Alice Otter from Frogtown Hollow with maybe a little bit of Calico Critters thrown in for good measure 🤭

The hutch pattern is from @little_bits_n_pieces_by_julie’s 4th book Making Doll’s House Furniture in 1/12th scale. It’s the French Dresser.

The paper lace trim is by Jeannette Kendall Miniatures, and you can find it on @earthandtreeminiatures website.

It’s been a minute! I got a new F/T job that I absolutely love, and feel so lucky to have landed it. So while I locked in there, that meant miniatures and polymer clay were put on the back burner. But, I recently spent last weekend making pumpkins, autumn wreaths, and colored leaves! I’m soooo excited to spend this weekend making more. I also bought some basswood to make a mini kitchen hutch for all my pumpkins 🤭

It’s a holiday here in the States on Monday — that means 3 full days of making miniatures lol. What are you working on?

My very first finished 1:12 piece of furniture! It’s a kitchen hutch. I built it for a spooky room box 🦇 🍂 🔮 I’m starting to put together.

I followed @little_bits_n_pieces_by_julie dresser in her 4th book (I share it at the end of the reel). I added my own touch with scalloped trim and feet I learned from @baharnrn.miniature.

Soon this hutch will be filled with spooky treats and covered in pumpkins 🎃 and autumn leaves 🍂

!!!! Today I was lucky to attend @houseof.viridian workshop Thresholds: Building a Miniature World Between Pages at @nocturnesalem in Salem. It was so much fun and sooo well done. My sister @maura_otoole came along, and I’m so glad she did. ♥️

This was the tray that Taylor brought around for us to pick an item (or more — he was so incredibly generous!) that we’d build our world around.

I wish I had taken better pics, but there was so much to look at, so many interesting people, and of course our book nooks to work on! (Also hello captions for each pic?! For once IG coming in clutch lol). 👉

The space was beyond. @nocturnesalem has done such an incredible job with the vibe!!

Literally the entire space is decked out in curiosities from ceiling to floor. Truly beautiful.

Taylor and Josh of @houseof.viridian did a phenomenal job. They opened with Josh giving us permission to experiment. It really set the tone of the whole day. ♥️

The paint colors !!! 😍😍😍

Every seat had a nook built by Taylor, and all over the table was branches, twigs, flowers, garland, rocks, moss, etc. to build with.

And if that wasn’t enough, there were trays all around the room filled with miniatures Taylor had sourced (see the first pic!) and 3D printed architectural pieces and more for us to choose from. When I say they went above and beyond, I mean they went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Truly one of the best workshops I’ve ever attended. (Hence why I’m writing every single one of these captions when most of y’all don’t read!!! lol).

I spent a ton of time painting a sunset 🙄 then realized there was only 45 minutes left lol. Luckily the guys let us go a little longer.

They encouraged us to take home supplies as well as more little miniatures. I mean, come on!!

Here’s my piece so far. I’m so excited to finish it.

Here are the pieces I chose. The birds nest was the piece my nook is centered around. It’s going to go one a twig 🤗

I finally tried my hand at 1:12 furniture! I bought the tutorial from @baharnrn.miniature on Etsy — who created a 1:12 version of a kitchen island from Anthropologie.

Tomorrow I’m going to paint the top faux marble. @chelseamakes has an excellent book (shout out to @littlemessyla for the book rec!) that shows how to paint faux marble. 😍 I also splurged on some dollhouse findings that come with drawer pulls, towel racks, and more.

My aim with this island is to create a little autumnal vignette with pumpkins, candles, foliage, and fall treats. Stay tuned! by @thetinyhollow

When I first started up with polymer clay last year, the idea of making a Danish cookie tin as sewing kit was on my list to try and make. I made one go a few months ago. This is my second attempt.

When I first made it, I was really only making earrings. I just couldn’t figure out how to make this as a pair of earrings. It felt like too much. But as I have hung out here more, I’ve seen so many cool little trinkets from desk buddy’s to worry stones and desk spinners to bag charms…so now the options are endless.

For this one, it’s just a prototype I’ll keep at my desk, I’m going to add a bottom that’s like a lace doily and maybe add a few more things to the lace. The tin itself will spin.

Are you screaming? 😆😆 Because I am.

If you look in the back of the video, you’ll see the wreckage of yesterday and today’s work - I made these Ohio Stars that I absolutely love…except they’re way too thick as earrings 😩🙄😆. The jump rings won’t hang loosely. It can feel so defeating when you spend so much time on something and realize you’ve f’ed up. So, just before I turned off my desk lamp to call it a day, I realized that I did in fact print the waterslide decals correctly…I figured, what do I have to lose? Let’s try it and give it a go!

And here before you, you see a tiny jar of Fluff. AND I AM ECSTATIC. 😆 This has been on my list to make and I may actually dance in my room lol. IYKYK

I have a inkjet printer, and I was hoping after all my research that I found a way to make decals without a laser printer. Like everyone else, I have FOMO because I don’t have a 3D printer, or a laser cutter, or a laser printer…so knowing that I have all I need to churn out the miniatures I’ve been dreaming of is beyond exciting to me. 🥰
