The Things We Tend To ⁠

My mother has always been a gardener. ⁠
⁠
Not in the grand, landscaped sense of the word. There are no perfectly measured borders or elaborate plans pinned to a wall. Her garden is more instinctive than that. Things are moved because they would be happier somewhere else. A plant is remembered from the year before. Seeds are saved. Something is watered because the afternoon has been unusually warm.⁠
