Celebrated the 4th with Sunset Peak via Brighton Lakes Trail. Give or take 6 miles depending on how many side quests you do 😆 It’s a pretty big payoff for the mileage.

So many things to see on the way, it’s still a win if you don’t make it to the top. And it’s still one of my favorite hikes in the Wasatch. taken in Sunset Peak by @thetrailcult

While y’all are out here debating mountains versus ocean, I’m vibing with lizards and collecting cool rocks.

The weird features of Utah NEVER grow old to me. I am still drawn to this place like nowhere else, and I’ve traveled more than most. I am beginning to feel like the earth pulls your soul to places where your energy is restored and balanced. Where you feel closest to God.

Turns out, a 7 day Utah staycation was just what my soul needed.

If I had a dollar for every time I said out loud “this is my life now.” It feels crazy to be able to experience things on the regular that many people will never see in a lifetime. And it’s so magical every time.

Nothing makes my heart feel like it’s bursting with gratitude more than being on a trail. For years, it’s been my Thanksgiving tradition to go on a long trail run. Staring at the Wasatch range this morning from high up on the hills behind my house, I was reminded of how far I’ve come, how hard I’ve fought, how long I’ve dreamed of the life I now live. I’m so grateful for this complicated but beautiful life and the people who love me through it. 🫶

I was not prepared for how quickly Falls arrives here in Utah. And sadly, she left as suddenly as she appeared. I didn’t have the time I wanted to set up this shot, due to weather, fleeting Fall, and personal stuff. But even those short moments in the mountains are always worth it, and I’m forever in awe of how the mountains constantly change. by @thetrailcult
