2014.03.09 - 2026.02.02 - Farewell my beloved

It's hard to say goodbye to a loved one.
It's even harder to a beloved pet.

Rick James, affectionately called Chumba, crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday afternoon.

He was given the best life he could have hoped for and was spoiled rotten; and in return, he was the best companion one could ask for, with the small flaw of not being cuddly or a lap cat, he was perfect.

He was always close to me, my guardcat always keeping watch, my baby boy, my best friend.

The best cat anyone could hope to have, and I am thankful he chose this home.

His name was Rick James, and he will be dearly missed.

2nd time making Cooking with Dog's recipe for their Christmas strawberry sponge cake. (It's a good recipe)

Not sure how this one turned out... it might be a little dense or over cooked but that's on me.
It'll still taste good and that's what matters most.

2024.05.17 - Well that was fun.

Had a severe thunderstorm roll through this afternoon, not a lot of thunder but there was a fuck ton of hail that fell.

Quite unusual for the area, especially for how long it lasted, (like a half an hour - 45 minutes roughly, if not longer) and the amount. We were right in the middle of it according to the radar picture so I'm not surprised really.

But aside from demolished chair covers and obliterated hostas, everything else seems to be okay for the most part.

Crazy ass weather man.

2024.04.08 - Total Solar Eclipse :D

Drove down to Toledo, Ohio to see the Eclipse, originally the destination was to be Cleveland, Ohio but traffic and detours really cut into the commute which was a bummer, so Toledo was the closest place to where we were to the totality of the eclipse.

It was really awesome to experience a full total eclipse again, the previous being the one that crossed over St.Louis, Missouri back in... 2017(?), but unlike Missouri, which was like 5 billion degrees then, this was a lot nicer and not as long of a commute.

But anyway, the way the sky darkened, like an incoming thunderstorm, was really cool and how everything got really quiet and the air cooled down significantly.

If you ever get the chance to view a total or even a partial eclipse, definitely do so! It's really cool and so worth it!!
