This is the first photo of me in a long time that I’ve actually liked (of course, it’s me that took it💀). I’m not faking a smile in this, no posing, nothing. I was truly happy when I took this. I’ll get the photos taken of me in an email pretty soon, but I already know I won’t like them as much as this one. This one perfectly encapsulates what I’ve been working towards for these past four years. I came in as a bio major and left a visual artist. I didn’t just find a job, or a career, or friends. I found myself. I wanted to quit. I wanted to change majors to be “safe”. I doubted myself. I questioned my worth. But now? I know I’m the shit. There’s always room for improvement, but I’m GOOD at what I do, and it took some special people in my life to make me realize. There were times that I worried in private, and still told people what I always say, “I’ll figure it out. If not, it’ll get figured out.” I told people I don’t stress about the small stuff, and sometimes it got to me. However, I will stick by what I say from now on, because there is no use stressing. Everything will be fine in the end. I will be fine in the end, no matter what. You will be fine. I don’t post often, especially after days like this, but I’ll be around. If you need me, just reach out. Until then, it’s your favorite degreed, dread-headed photographer from the hood.
