Rebirth!¡ Flics from the opening of ‘When She Smiles’ this summer at @night_owl_gallery . Thank you to all the artists who helped the exhibition come alive and grace our wall’s with a look into their minds on Joy and its intersections with divine femininity. Asking the question: In what ways can we develop and nurture our joy independent of assumed roles - for ourselves? ‘When She Smiles’ delves into the dynamic relationship between joy and femininity, particularly within the context of navigating social norms and reclaiming agency. Through a diverse range of mediums and experiences, this exhibition invites viewers to contemplate how joy is perceived, experienced, and cultivated by femmes, offering insights into the complexities of liberation, trauma, and empowerment. Amidst cultural pressures and expectations, we’re encouraging the search for personal fulfillment. Femmes use art to reclaim places for self-discovery, introspection, and personal growth. Artists remind us that happiness is more than just an external desire; it is a journey of self-acceptance and empowerment. - Alexis Tyson, Curator Artists: Ashiara Divine | @ashiiiara Kaylah Hamilton | @jmhtheartist Vanessa Villareal | @vvillarrealart Jazz Williams | @jazzwilliams.art Shelby Strickler | @she_lbyy Tia Thomas | @tianelliee TWZ | @thetwz by @thetwz
