Talking business is underrated.

The best conversations often start with simple questions:

What’s working?
What isn’t?
Where are you stuck?
What would you do differently?

Questions that usually come up after the formal event ends.

At Unpuzzle, we believe that conversation is the event.

Our latest RoundTable came alive with Akash Valia, Co-founder, Secret Alchemist, bringing his candour, energy and perspective into the room and making the conversation all the more real.

No pitches. No polished answers. Just honest questions, shared experiences and conversations around what actually matters.

Here’s to more rooms like this.

Volume 5. Mumbai. Done and dusted.

Rude Lounge, Powai. 100+ founders, investors and leading entrepreneurs in one room, and not a single forced business card exchange.

Here’s the thing about entrepreneurship...you can build in isolation, but you can’t grow in it. Every founder in that room was solving a different problem, and half of them found their answer sitting at the next table.

Thank you for making our Volume 5 happening.

But we’re not done. Something big is loading.

Our one year anniversary is going to be a blast.
The Unpuzzle Project presents Pitchers & Movers.

The Unpuzzle Project Volume 5, Mumbai. 100+ founders, investors and leading entrepreneurs in one room, and not one person watching the clock.

Sometime after we began, the introductions were done and so were the formalities, and people got to the honest stuff. What’s actually broken. What nobody tells you about hiring. Why the last eighteen months were harder than the pitch deck admits.

That’s the version of entrepreneurship you don’t get from a stage. You get it sideways, at a table, from someone who’s been through it and has no reason to dress it up.

Five volumes in, and we’re still convinced the room matters more than the headcount. And Mumbai proved it again.

Watch it through. Sound on. And don’t stop ‘til you get enough. by @theunpuzzleproject

“Namak Shamak!” If you grew up in India, you’ve probably sung along at least once. Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi trained at IHM Bhubaneswar, started at The Oberoi in 1987, and went on to become one of India’s most loved food personalities, from Khana Khazana on Zee TV in 1993 to Turban Tadka on FoodFood and then, Laughter Chefs. He also learned something every founder in the room will relate to: personality is a brand.

Beyond the screen, he’s a serious entrepreneur. He opened Khazana in Dubai in 1998, launched The Funjabi Tadka in 2012, and built Karigari, a regional Indian dining brand with outlets across Delhi NCR and as far as Boston. He spent seven years designing business-class menus for Singapore Airlines, co-wrote Royal Hyderabadi Cooking with Sanjeev Kapoor, and even speaks seven languages. Only a few people can run a restaurant, a TV show and a kitchen full of comedians, simultaneously.

We’re delighted to have Chef Harpal at Pitchers & Movers.

If you’re building in food, hospitality or a founder-led brand, come learn from someone who made a whole country smile while seasoning a dal. Fair warning: you will leave humming.

The Unpuzzle Project turns one. A year of founder tables, straight talk and introductions that turned into deals, hires and friendships. We’re grateful to have found a place in this ecosystem, and we’re celebrating with the people who built it with us.

“Slow and steady doesn’t just win the race. It builds the brand.”

@rajbhog_04 and her brother Divyashakti Vardhan Singh started @peeyo.in in Indore in 2023 to fill a gap in Indian drinking culture: something premium and social that wasn’t a sugary soda and wasn’t alcohol either.

Today PEEYO has 12 ready-to-drink beverages, mixers and sodas, from tonic water and ginger ale to jaljeera, each built for a different occasion rather than one hero product. Instead of celebrity endorsements and blitz marketing, PEEYO grew the hard way: superstockists, distributors and serious execution.

The result is more than 10 lakh cans and 40 lakh PET bottles sold, a presence in 10 states and quick commerce, and revenue reportedly on track to cross ₹10 crore. And it’s entirely bootstrapped. In a category where most brands burn cash to get noticed, PEEYO is building distribution first.

We’re glad to have Rajnandini at Pitchers & Movers.

If you’re building an FMCG brand outside the metros, or trying to crack distribution without a big marketing budget, she has done it can by can. Come find out how.

The Unpuzzle Project turns one. What started as a simple idea, putting founders at the same table, became a year of honest conversations and people helping each other move forward. We’re grateful to be part of this ecosystem, and we’re celebrating it together.

“India is entering its most exciting startup decade.”

— @yagneshs2707

Of course, he’d know. A Chartered Accountant by training, he was a founding partner and CFO at 100X.VC one of India’s most active seed-stage investors, where he worked on hundreds of early cheques and learned what separates a promising pitch from a fundable company. In 2025 he and Shashank Randev struck out on their own and launched 247VC with a ₹250 crore India Fund I.

247VC backs bold founders at the seed stage across consumption, deeptech, enterprise tech and Industry 5.0. It plans to back around 30 startups over three years, with average first cheques of ₹3–4 crore and about half the fund held back for follow-ons. The firm is built for founders “obsessed with solving hard problems and building for scale.” The name says the rest: these are investors who don’t clock out.

We’re glad to have Yagnesh at Pitchers & Movers.

“Never judge a gin by its colour. It’s about to change anyway.”

@nisakigin is India’s colour-changing dry gin, and it does exactly that.

@sanch.agarwal co-founded the brand with Nidhi Kedia and Akhilesh Rajan under Project Peacock. It’s a rice-based spirit distilled three times in copper pots in Goa and blended with 16 organic botanicals, including Macedonian juniper, citrus and a signature tea blend.

The trick is butterfly pea flower: pour it neat and it’s a deep indigo; add tonic and it turns pink right in your glass. No artificial additives, just a little chemistry and a lot of theatre.

Sanchit has said he expects a growing appetite for “artisanal and distinctive offerings.” Nisaki is his bet that Indian craft spirits can look as good as they taste.

We’re glad to have Sanchit at Pitchers & Movers.

If you’re building an experiential consumer brand, or trying to make people stop and look twice at your product, he has bottled the answer. Literally.

A year ago, The Unpuzzle Project was just an idea: put founders around one table and let the conversations do the work. Twelve months later, we’re proud to be a small but loud part of this ecosystem, and we’re celebrating it properly.

“Because play deserves purpose.”
— Innovitoy

Innovitoy makes toys with a point. From its own manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, the brand makes safe, made-in-India toys for babies and kids, from rattles and stacking sets to musical toys, and supplies close to 4,000 stores across India. As D2C Marketing Head, Ayush’s job is to take a brand that already lives on toy-shop shelves and get parents to choose it directly, online.
It’s a job with demanding customers. His end users can’t read, don’t own credit cards and will throw the product across the room if they don’t like it. Their parents, meanwhile, read every review twice.

We’re glad to have Ayush at Pitchers & Movers.
If you’re a manufacturer moving from distribution to D2C, or you’re marketing to two very different audiences at once, he’s living that challenge every day. Bring your questions. Toys optional.

“Your network is your net worth.”
— Porter Gale

At TiE Mumbai, Trupti works on exactly that, connecting growth-stage founders with investors, mentors and each other. She studied at TISS, worked at the Lodha Group, and now helps run one of the country’s most established founder networks. TiE started in Silicon Valley in 1992 and was brought to India in 1999 by Mumbai’s own Harish Mehta, a co-founder of NASSCOM. Trupti has helped host Investor of the Month sessions, F&B founder meetups and TiE Mumbai’s tech delegation to the San Francisco Bay Area.

TiE Mumbai is also our community partner for Pitchers & Movers, and its president, Dr. Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, co-founded Venture Catalysts. Small world, big network.

We’re glad to have Trupti at Pitchers & Movers.
If you want to get into the rooms where Mumbai’s startup ecosystem actually meets, she knows who should be in them. Say hi. She’ll probably introduce you to three people before you finish your coffee.

“In 1994 I took the plunge into entrepreneurship without any prior experience.”
— Kavi Shahani

Kavi has never let a lack of experience stop him. After a master’s in computer engineering at Iowa State, he started an export business for scarves, shawls and sarongs from India, and became the first accessories exporter to set up a sourcing office in China to fix Indian production problems. He grew it to ₹35 crore in annual revenue and 80+ employees, and ran it for 29 years until Covid and China’s shutdowns forced him to close it.

Most people would have called that a career. Kavi went back to studying, this time data science, and turned to startups full-time. He has invested in 20+ startups, has three exits, and now runs India Connection, matching founders with the right investors and tracking Indian startup funding one deal at a time.

We’re glad to have Kavi at Pitchers & Movers.
If you need the right investor introduction, or you’re a promoter quietly wondering what your business would sell for, he has spent three decades on both sides of that table.

“Being pitch-ready isn’t the same as being investment-ready.”

Akshi has built her career on closing that gap. A Chartered Accountant who started as a corporate banker at Yes Bank, she co-founded PepperTree in 2019, a boutique investment banking firm that helps early-stage startups raise money from VCs, angels, family offices and HNIs. She works across fintech, healthtech, agritech, B2B, consumer brands and deeptech, and has built the investor relationships founders spend years chasing. She writes angel cheques herself too.
And yes, she was almost on Shark Tank India Season 4. In her words: almost seen.

We’re glad to have Akshi at Pitchers & Movers.
If you’re about to raise and aren’t completely sure what your term sheet says, find her before your investors find the red flags. She runs fundraising masterclasses for a reason.

“More than the ideas, we like to back the founders.”
— Mrunal Jhaveri

Mrunal knows a thing or two about versatility. While studying at Middlesex University in London, he worked 13 different jobs, from Arsenal’s stadium and Wimbledon to market research, game testing and appearing as an extra in films. He came home to build the family business, Jhaveri Flexo India, and in 2014 started its venture arm, Icebreaker Tech, now ICE.vc. What began as a side hustle has grown into 90+ first-cheque investments across India, Israel, the US and Africa. Somewhere along the way he also produced a film, The Final Exit, which was recognised at international festivals.

We’re glad to have Mrunal at Pitchers & Movers.
If you’re raising your very first cheque, meet someone who writes them for a living and stays hands-on with fundraising and growth long after. You can also ask him what Wimbledon taught him about patience.
