POSTS STORIES REELS

An unexpected outcome!

I’ve always been a glad half full kind of girl, believing that you should always be grateful for what you have rather than what’s missing or lacking.

If you remember my posts on my greenhouse you’ll know how excited 😝 I was to receive one for my birthday last year and shortly after I did a follow up post on it getting severely damaged in a big storm we had.

My dilemma is that most of my yard is like a wind 💨 tunnel during strong winds and it whips right through the centre of my yard causing chaos as it passes through. My garden arch I had also fell victim, three times in fact! I have planted several windbreakers, but it takes time.

So, I decided to turn lemons 🍋 into lemonade and have upcycled my damaged greenhouse into an open air potting/ faffing area! It may not be the dream garden greenhouse I was hoping for but it’s a wonderful diy quirky compromise that funnily enough, works perfectly for me.

In a nutshell, hubby collected most of the sides that had flung off the greenhouse to several neighbours yards (tad embarrassing 😳) then I removed what was left of the roof and sides, threw away the broken sheets and I was left with just the frame.

I have planted two climbers on either side a hardenbergia happy wanderer and a star jasmine. I’m thinking of having just the star jasmine on both sides as it’s growing more rapidly and I think it will give better coverage over time,

I have no idea how this will turn out, I’m hoping the climber will fill out over the frame and create somewhat of a romantic looking canopy? fingers crossed! 🤞it’s a success story!

I’ve added some of my eclectic bits and bobs, planters, a fairy garden and a table for Milo (my garden buddy) and me to sit on, pot things up and basically faff about with garden stuff and well call me crazy 🤪 but it just works!

What do you think? Is this turning a disaster into a success or do you think 🤔 it should’ve just been scrapped altogether? I

My Bessie!
This was her original state when I rescued her from a life in pieces at the dump. What a crying shame that would’ve been!

As some of you will remember, I first upcycled “Bessie” (yes, I named her) in white but she got pretty banged up and damaged in a storm last year.

So I held a vote on here and baby blue received the most votes for her transformation, so here she is!

What a beauty! I love the chippy, shabby farmhouse/ cottage style - she is just packed with whimsy, cottage charm and character and if you haven’t already guessed- I just love her to bits!

And if you want to see some tips and tricks on how I transformed her into this chippy cottage beauty with very little and inexpensive supplies so you can try your very own upcycle too, stay tuned for my 3 part series coming soon!

🎶 🌸~ Spring sings life’s new melody 🎶

Celebrating with you the beauty, romance and softness of Springtime in my garden today with beautiful words of inspiration and my pretty upcycled basket from the Salvos filled with my wizard of Oz journal and spring flowers from my own garden! 🌸

This op shop basket was begging for me to take it home and upcycle it to use in my little cottage garden and with just a lick of paint and cute satin bow, it looks lovely.

It’s so pretty too with lemons 🍋 from the garden when they are in season.

What’s something you’ve upcycled to use in your garden?

Happy weekend 🌸🍃

If you’ve been following along with my Christmas crafting series you’ll know it’s almost time to reveal my first ever completely DIY home made hot chocolate station! But first, I have to include some fun chocolate recipes I’ll be including and that you can try too!

I’ve settled on two fun recipes this year (as a hot chocolate bar newbie 🤣) and here’s the first, these adorable chocolate stirrers!

These stirrers are super cute and so easy to make! My hubby and I had so much fun creating these hot chocolate stirrers together and experimenting with lots of different toppings.

To be honest, 🤷‍♀️ the hardest thing was having the patience to allow them to half set in the fridge before piling on all those toppings and sprinkles! 😆🤣

Want to know how easy these adorable hot chocolate stirrers are to create at home yourself?

DM chocolate 🍫 in the comments and I’ll send you everything you need to know on how you can create your very own at home this Christmas!

💗Today’s heart thought

If someone followed you around all day, what would they find?

In the end…

it’s not how attractive you are on the outside, it’s about the truth of the beauty you carry on the inside

It’s not about how much money or “stuff” you accumulate in this lifetime, it’s about what you can give freely from your heart with no strings attached.

It’s about crafting a beautiful life with what you have inside of you - your thoughts, your faith, dreams, your ideas, your kindness, your creativity, your emotions (all of them)

We are all so very different and with those differences we have the ability to contribute so much to this world and to others just by being ourselves- no bells and whistles, no fancy stuff, no glitzy clothes, just who we are doing our thing and that is enough 🩷

If you are still reading this,

🌷I hope you find Kindness here,
🌷I hope you find gratitude for the little things here,
🌷I hope you find me creating from my heart here,
🌷I hope you find comfort, faith & compassion here
🌷I hope you find beauty in the garden & nature here

And most of all I hope in some way you do find Jesus here 💗xx

Planting a new tree in the garden isn’t anything special, or can it be?

A few weeks ago my Dad flew over and stayed with us, it had been so long, about seven years I think 🤔 since we had last been together and it was a bit of a shock for him to see that I had gone from running around on my feet all day to someone who was unable to walk. It was hubby who suggested that maybe we plant a tree together while he was here and I thought it was such a wonderful idea.

Such a simple idea, but one that was extremely memorable for us both and turned something quite ordinary into something that holds great sentiment and joy! It’s all part of crafting a beautiful life, moments like these! Whenever we talk on the phone now, Dad’s always asking about the tree! (Have you watered it? Is it still alive 🤣🤣)

The tree will no doubt outlive us both but it will carry so much more in its branches than anyone will ever know 💗🙏

Today’s heart thought

Showing kindness is never a weakness, it takes great strength and resilience to remain kind in a world that can be so cold.

Never give up hope, one day the world will be very different and it’s by one kind heart at a time that we will get there xx

💗Be proud of your kind heart, not everyone has it!

As today marks world kindness day today why not pay that kindness forward and share this to someone who has a kind heart ♥️

🎄 Welcome to part 4 of my Christmas crafting series where I share with you how I’m creating a festive hot chocolate bar from start to finish!

🎄 I didn’t want to just buy plain containers to keep all my hot chocolate toppings in, I wanted to create some cute Christmas decor that was uniquely my own! When I spotted these adorable nutcracker Christmas tree ornaments at the shops I knew they would fit perfectly with my Christmas theme!

🫙 Supplies:
- glass jars (you could use containers or boxes)
- ribbon or lace
- a Christmas ornament
- some faux greenery
- some fluffy white yarn
- a velvet bow
- a glue gun

💡 📝 Alternative Ideas & Inspiration

- try using a large Christmas bauble or a few small ones glued together
- create a little scene like adding a mini deer, fake snow and mini trees
- you could get some Christmas headbands (like reindeer) and decorate the lids with the antlers!
- you could add mini santa hats or candy canes paired with striped ribbon.
- spray paint the lids and an ornament in 1 colour like gold or silver, pair with a white bow for an elegant look.

🎄 The possibilities to craft your own beautiful Christmas jars endless! The best thing is, you can use the jars for anything during Christmas time and they’ll be all the more special because you have made them yourself!

🎄Side note 📝 It would make a lovely Christmas gift, with a few goodies and gift card inside)

With so many possibilities,
HOW WOULD YOU DECORATE YOURS?

🩷~ Today’s heart thought comes direct from my flower garden with a special appearance by my three dogs xx

So grateful for these heart felt words of appreciation for the ordinary miracles we see everyday! 🩷

“It’s not that unusual
When everything is beautiful
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

The sky knows when it’s time to snow
Don’t need to teach a seed to grow
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

Life is like a gift they say
Wrapped up for you everyday
Open up and find a way
To give some of your own…”

🏡 Today I’m sharing some of my latest dollhouse garden scene project I’ve been crafting.

It’s a ground level miniature whimsical fairytale style garden scene I’ve just completed that will attach to the left side of my dollhouse. This was such a fun and creative project!

Some highlights include: an upcycled miniature hanging planter, a Victorian style cherub statue, a diy garden pathway crafted from mdf offcuts and a 3d printed balcony fencing and gate and a tiny garden landscape scene complete with mushrooms 🍄 and ladybugs

🏡 If you could use one word to describe this garden scene from my dollhouse what would it be?
