It all started with losing my job.

I flew economy for 27 years. Then the writers’ strike shut down the production I was working on overnight.

My partner was on the other side of the world, and I said f*ck it, I’m coming.

And learning about points put me in business for the first time in my life.

I never set out to become “the points girl”. I set out to get to Europe without paying an arm and a leg.

Everything changed when I realised I didn’t need to earn more to get out of economy. I needed to use what I was already spending properly.

And then I realised how much I loved helping other people do the same. I can’t describe the feeling of joy I get from seeing others succeed.

So if you’ve always walked past business class on the way to your seat at the back thinking “that’s not for people like me”...

I thought that for 27 years too.

The free guide is exactly where I’d start if I was doing it all over again. Just comment POINTS PLAN ✈️

p.s. from one woman to another figuring out how to upgrade her travel experiences, YOU’VE GOT THIS.

last week i shared how i flew economy for 27 years… and then ended up in emirates first class on points. 156K of you watched it, and so many of you told me the same three things.

you’re not collecting points fast enough, you don’t know where to start, and it all just feels overwhelming.

honestly that was me for years, and i still feel it sometimes with all the changes, programs and platforms.

so i’m creating something for you. i can’t say much yet, but the waitlist hears about it first (and gets in first) 👀

if you’re new here, hi i’m Olivia 👋 i help Aussies learn how to turn their everyday spend into business and first class flights, without overspending and without solely relying on a credit card (although they do help!)

Comment GROCERIES and I’ll send you the method 📚🧠

Ps. You don’t need a credit card to earn these points 👀

Once you understand how the supermarket algorithms work, it changes everything about how you shop, so you can get more from spend you have to do anyway.

September: 30,000 points from groceries alone 🛒= ✈️

We’re on track to earn almost 400,000 points from groceries ALONE this year.

This is what’s working for us - every household is different depending on how you shop, what you spend and how you structure your spend.

This is just one lever we pull to earn points to get us into business class. There’s so many ways without relying on a credit card 🙇🏽‍♀️

I used to believe you have to fly constantly to earn status.

But I earned 258 Status Credits from this one trip, because I picked double Status Credits in Velocity’s Pick Your Bonus offer.

This will be my first time ever with airline status ✨

Status makes the trip nicer. But points planning and timing are what get you those Velocity business reward seats.

Most people think points start with a credit card or flying. In August, more than 21,000 of my Flybuys points came from my grocery shop alone, plus a bunch more from my bills and shopping I was doing anyway. Even sleeping and walking 😂 None of it was from a credit card (I didn’t even have one all year until October).

If you’re new here: I’m Olivia, the friend who figured out the points game. I share how everyday Australians earn points on the spending they already do, and turn them into seats they didn’t think they’d ever sit in. I’m not a guru, I’m just a few steps ahead, deep down the rabbit hole, sharing what has worked for me.

Comment WAITLIST to be first in line for what I’m creating.

Throwback to my favourite DM this year. Chiara and I did a strategy call earlier in the year, and in August she messaged me from her seat: Rome to Sydney, Emirates business, using only Qantas points ✨

If you’re new here: I’m Olivia. I flew economy for 27 years before I learned how points work, and I’ve since flown business class half a dozen times on points. I might not know everything, but I sure as hell have learnt a lot. Just see me as your points bestie down the rabbit hole with you, not that far ahead of you, I’m learning alongside you x

Can I get $40K worth of business class flights to my sister’s wedding for under $5K? 👀

That’s the mission. The points are ready, now I need the seats. Ep 1, and the part most people don’t expect is where the points actually came from.

Last-minute trip to Bali, so I broke all my own points rules 😅 booked days before departure, no flexible dates = zero reward seats. I am not surprised 😂

So I paid cash for economy and tried a 22,000 point upgrade to business… Watch to the end for how it went (and the win I didn’t expect).

Not every flight’s the win you want and I’ll always show you the misses too. But there still was something good to come from this flight 😉

If points feel overwhelming… you’re not doing it wrong. There’s just so much information out there, and it can be hard to know where to start.

What you choose to focus on might look completely different to me, and that’s okay, but these are a few things that helped me 🤍 by @theupgrade.era
