A few months ago i made this look to compete in the witch coven themed finale of @polishthequeen, where i had the great opportunity to polish my drag looks and performances throughout the summer and fall - and took home runner up for the finale. I absolutely loved all the performers and judges i’ve met throughout the season and couldn’t be more grateful to have participated in this part of the competition circuit. I’m currently in between finding a new tech job vs juggling many part time jobs and it’s been bringing back my struggles with impostor syndrome. I first felt impostor syndrome in tech/engineering, always feeling like my technical skills weren’t as strong and i’d be viewed as stupid or a diversity hire by my peers. It’s manifested itself in fashion design, feeling like i don’t have the technical training of others, in drag, feeling so much anxiety when it comes to performing, and even in friendships, feeling like i come across as lame, fake, or disingenuous. It’s been something that i ignored and let marinate for so long and i think this is the year in need to focus on it a bit more. That’s it. That’s the post. by @thevaledictorian
