Once again I am enamored and enthralled by BTS's ability to make me feel happy to be alive.
This concert was INSANE! my 5th time seeing BTS live and this by far was one of my top concerts ever. I was so lucky to finish my crochet project, The Borahae Vest, (pattern coming soon to @bsides.stitching ) and some accessories for my bestie.
I am so happy to have met so many fellow ARMY and trade freebies and dance and yell and scream with all of you. This was an experience of a lifetime.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the book that started it all. Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice !!!!!

I am so proud to have been picked to deliver a line from the first page of this intense work of Gothic fiction that spiraled and spun its tales of the Vampire Chonicles and has clung its fangs into my heart ever since my mom let me peruse her personal library. (Rest well mom)
The amazing series on AMC does this tale and the thousands of words wrote by Ms. Anne justice time and time over. The characters are eternally loved and hated and fawned about. And I cannot wait for season 3 for The Vampire Lestat (of which i also participated in the fan video for the anniversary as well)
This incredible fandom, spanning miles and countless miles to convene and discuss and argue and cry over these scenes and relationships could not have started if not for this first novel, Anne Rice healing her grief through this first book. I will always cherish these pages for finding myself in Louis, Lestat, the Vampire Armand and many more of these dramatic tragic characters. Hears to this story, this author, the movie, the play, the music, and the incredible Series!

The wait is over Children of the Night. We laid our Lady Anne Rice to rest as fans, as friends, as lovers of the immortal scripts she gave us. Dressed as Louis de Pointe du Lac, with a good friend and with every bit of merchandise I could find (and a rat snack), I was able to see the wondrous All Saints Day Anne Rice Celebration of Life on November 1st, 2025. What a gorgeous, magnificent and tearful event this was! And how happy was I to meet so many fans from around the world who have seen the beautiful, stunning AMC adaptations of her works. (Patiently devouring the Vampire Chronicles again until season 3 please). Anne's novels meant the world to me and my late mother so much and Im sure she would have loved to be with everyone to celebrate this iconic author's life.

I grew up very sheltered in devout Roman Catholic schooling and a bigoted family who refused me in all my flamboyant self. I believe even my mother would have understood me if she could have read and watched and seen how liberating being myself truly was.

As the AMC show and Anne proclaimed herself, I am and will always "be all the beautiful things [I am] and be them without apology" Black, Queer, Autistic and Proud.

All of these pieces of media have been my lifeblood, my saviors over the years as they have to many others. My comforts, my everlasting loves I gush and beam with affection to any stranger who will listen. I am so thrilled to see this Fandom alive and well and brimming with life, love, laughter and bright red pumping blood again. It will never again be driven into the shadows I hope, but if so, only to be awoken from slumber to the tune of another fresh eyed media maker eager to move our spirits once again.

I am ready for my thirties today. My birthday this year has been full of friendship, love, good food, fun, tears and laughter! I am eternally grateful to everyone who helped celebrate with me and chosen family who called or wished me well from miles away.

I didn't think I would make it here even last year. I've never gone a full year without wishing for death in some serious way and, I am determined to see through this next decade. I cannot believe I am still alive and haven't joined my parents in death much earlier. Despite my attempts, diagnoses, and traumas I am here. Despite everything, I am here. I am me. And... I am happy to choose to live and keep going.

I want to see BTS tour next year, I want to see my friends achieve their goals, I want to pursue my dreams and goals with conviction and so much more. I believe in myself....and I want to keep believing that all these people who have helped me get here, can see my worth even when I can't.

Thank you to each and every person that has lifted me not only this week but in my entire life thus far. Thank you to new friends and old chosen family alike who have wished me a happy birthday.

TW/CW: Parental death, grief, depression, homophobia, DV, CA

Feeling a bit bittersweet this mother's day. Yes I miss my mom and her warmth. I wish she hadn't killed herself but I don't blame her for it. I'm angry. I'm sad. I grieve just like I have for the past 9 years and I'll grieve forever a bit differently every year. If I focus on the good parts, I remember her patiently teaching me how to crochet, how to cook, how to clean, how to be kind and helpful, etc. I remember calling her my hero for the longest time.

Been crocheting to remember her and for my own love of the hobby for the past 5 years. I want to honor and remember her well and I want to grow into a much stronger, better person than her. I miss my momma. I'll always love her despite the conditional love she held for me and the tragic love she had for my abusive father. by @thevampireengineer

THEE VAMPIRE LOUIS DE POINTE DU LAC in his on/off again depressed divorced sad boi era after his ex-ex-husband and soulmate, Lestat's memoir is published (4th book - "Tale of the Body Thief" era). The best rat-catcher in New Orleans out on the town once again. This is @annericeamc AMC's adaptation of Louis from Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire and Immortal Universe.

So incredibly happy this fandom is alive and well. I really hope we can see Louis in his dusty sweater divorced again era in the series one day! Till then, I will be patiently awaiting seeing all the cast performances in The Vampire Lestat's journey in season 3!!!!

I crocheted the rat using @withlovefeli 's pattern and adding the blood embellishments. I am so proud of this costume this year. The necklace is from sheepskeleton on Tumblr a commission from a long time ago.

"Jack in the Box" by j-hope of BTS, Album inspired bucket hat!!! Y'all know I couldn't go too long without crocheting some kpop or BTS merch! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I used it's Erin b. (@erin_reiko ) tutorial checkered bucket hat pattern on YouTube for helping me finally create a bucket hat that looks amazing and worked up so fast. I did modify it a bit with hook size and style but it looks amazing and makes me so happy. I tried SO many patterns (12+) and tutorials (10+) and just couldn't get it right till I found this pattern.
My first trial with it's Erin b.'s method with no mods is the red and blue checkered bucket hat in the later pics and I loved how it turned out. Using a smaller hook made it fit my head better and I'll probably try a bunch of different styles to find my own methodology. I am so grateful for crochet communities and helpful crafters who offer a lot of advice online.

This is definitely not gonna be the last kpop inspired crochet anything nor BTS inspired hat! Lol I already have ideas for all of the solo albums and BTS Album. Definitely might also do some jrock and other artist/album inspired designs!

I am so proud of these works and am already starting more projects!

Finished my "Sunset Solstice Cardigan" on June 22, 2024! It's cozy, oversized, and breezy enough for spring or fall. It's a little bit too hot for this current heatwave but it's great for indoors and dancing around my apartment.

I used the hexagon cardigan patterns by @makeanddocrew (The Campfire Cardigan) and @yarnspirations ( Bernat Make this Crochet Both Sides Now Hexi-Cardi) for the main body and hood along with MakeAndDoCrew's "Day Date crochet cardigan" pattern for the pockets. This was so much fun and easy to make and I am so proud to finish another big project. I originally wanted to make a pride cardigan but these colors worked much better as a summer sunset design.

The main yarn used was Caron acrylic big Cakes in toffee along with some scrap yarns I had around that matched the variegated yarn pretty well. I used a 6mm Prym hook for the entire thing, weaved in ends as I went. This project was simple and mindless but the hardest part was probably sewing on the pockets so they were perfectly symmetrical!

Honing this skill helps me so much with my mental health and it keeps me creative. The sensory love from the yarn textures, the repetitive motions of using the different hooks, and all of the different amazing ideas by so many wonderful makers in the crochet world never fails to make me feel proud about finishing projects.

This is probably my favorite item I have ever crocheted just because it was so much fun and simple to make. I didn't track my hours but it probably took a total of 2 weeks straight to finish. I worked on it on and off within a month around 4-8 hours almost every day and didn't want to stop. I am very proud of it and am already working on other projects.
