One thing I genuinely dislike about Nigerian social media is how somebody’s personal life can become everybody’s full-time job overnight.

An allegation comes out and suddenly people are digging through old videos, old captions, wedding pictures, interviews, comments… looking for “signs” just so they can eventually say, “I knew it” or “something was always off.”

And sometimes the person who may actually be HURT ends up receiving more mockery than the person accused of doing the hurting. How does that even make sense?

Not everything needs our investigation. Not every marriage or relationship owes the internet an explanation. Screenshots can exist, videos can circulate, allegations can be made — and we can STILL admit that we don’t know everything happening inside somebody else’s home.

There’s a difference between genuine concern and enjoying somebody’s downfall as entertainment.

Sometimes, una no really care. Una just want gist, confirmation of assumptions and the satisfaction of saying “I told you so.”

And that part is genuinely sad.🙂

A week later and I’m still grateful.🤍

Thank you for every message, prayer, call, gift, post and every bit of love I received last Sunday. I genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

More than anything, I’m grateful to God for life, growth, grace, and another chapter to become everything He has called me to be.

I may not have every answer yet, but I know the One writing the story.

My life will be proof that God indeed helps people. 🤲🏾

As I step into a new year of my life, one thing I’m reminded of is that I have never been carried by my own strength alone. Through every version of me, every lesson, every loss, every quiet win, every unanswered prayer and every moment I thought I was figuring life out by myself, God was there.

So today, more than anything, I’m grateful. Grateful for life, for grace, for growth, for the gift of people, for the privilege of becoming, and for a God who has remained intentional with me through it all.

I may not have everything figured out, but I know who has brought me this far, and that is enough reason to celebrate.
