Grateful, thrilled, and truly honoured to have the opportunity to exhibit my work at Kolanut Art Gallery, Abuja. 🎨✨

This is more than an exhibition—it’s another beautiful step in my journey as an artist. I’m excited to share my work, connect with fellow creatives, and let my art speak in a space that celebrates creativity and expression.

Here’s to new opportunities, new connections, and bigger dreams. 🖤🎨

Thank you, Kolanut Art Gallery, for the opportunity. 🙏🏽

Hope in Faith

This artwork represents the struggle between despair and hope the moments when the world feels dark, uncertain, and overwhelming. The two blindfolded figures symbolize humanity, often unable to see the future or understand the path ahead. Their faces are hidden, their vision restricted, and the darkness seems to surround them.

Look Beyond the Portrait:@thevineart1 Divine Hillary Is Drawing the Emotional Weight We Carry but Rarely See.

What happens when a portrait stops documenting appearance and starts revealing emotional history?
For contemporary Nigerian visual artist Divine Hillary, the human figure becomes a site of memory, vulnerability, identity and resilience.

Working primarily through drawing and mixed media, including charcoal and oil paint, Divine creates figures suspended between strength and softness, presence and dissolution. The work is rooted in observation and introspection rather than portraiture for portraiture's sake.

In Between Holding On and Letting Go, clustered figures carry the psychological weight of grief, memory and attachment while a lighter solitary figure suggests healing, detachment and transcendence.

In A Quest for Harmony, chains, cloth and the human face become symbols of struggle, culture, dignity, freedom and resilience.

This is where Divine's practice connects strongly with AMIAF 2026 African Art, Heritage & Legacy.
Because legacy is not only what a generation leaves behind.

It is also the emotional, cultural and human experiences we carry forward.

Meet Divine Hillary at Artmiabo International Art Festival 2026, Abuja.

This week’s Cre8ive of the week is one you need to know.

Meet @thevineart1 a contemporary visual artist from Edo State, based in Abuja, whose work goes far deeper than what the eye first sees.

Working in charcoal and oil paint, Divine explores identity, emotional memory and the human condition through intimate, textural imagery.

Every piece sits in that quiet tension between strength and softness. Presence and dissolution. Rawness and beauty.

Influenced by classical portraiture and contemporary figurative expression, Divine’s work challenges conventional ideas of beauty while honouring lived experience and it’s already been seen in group and solo exhibitions including Colors of Kwara.

This is what showing up as an artist looks like💯

Welcome to the Vascan community @thevineart1
We’re glad you’re here🤝
