Hello 👋🏼 🇺🇸🗽

It’s been a while but we’ve been on our holidays recently and couldn’t help checking out some record shops whilst we were away.

@earwaxrecords in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is a cracking little store. It had a lovely selection in records and music genres. We especially liked a lot of the Manchester bands they had in stock and of course New York bands.

The area around Williamsburg is a much more chilled and relaxing vibe compared to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. It’s the perfect place to relax have a drink and pop in for some records on a sunny day

🔴@beenstellar⚫️

I can’t speak highly enough on this debut EP from Been Stellar. I watched the @audiotree recording of them on YouTube and fell in love with them. Manhattan Youth, My Honesty and Kids 1995 are our top tracks but the EP is brilliant from start to finish.

The New York outfit are currently recording more music and have toured with bands such as @fontainesband, @shame and this year they tour with @the1975. We can’t wait for a debut album from them and we think they are going to blow up in 2024 so you heard them here first 👏🏼🇺🇸🗽 taken in New York City by @thevinyltrove

The Soft Parade by @thedoors was one of our recent purchases. We have been going through a lot of the The Doors albums recently.

The Soft Parade is one of the most experimental albums and much more musical than previous records with saxophone and brass instruments involved.

Some fans were unsure but I really like the sound differences in this record and new approach to Jim’s vocals and melodies. What do you think? 🟦⬛️ taken in Venice, California by @thevinyltrove

🚨TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS🚨

One of our favourite albums of all time by @interpol. We have recently been reading Meet Me In The Bathroom by Elizabeth Goodman.

She talks about the New York music scene between 2001 - 2011 and how bands like Interpol, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem and Yeah Yeah Yeahs changed the face of music within that era. Turn on the bright lights is one of them defining albums and one that will lead Interpol onto a huge career that still stands today. I would very much recommend starting with this album if you’ve never given Interpol a proper listen. taken in New York City by @thevinyltrove

Hello vinyl and music lovers of the world 🌍🎶

It’s been a while but we are back. And we had a lovely trip out to @fountain_records this afternoon. Wanted to get down to this place for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Plenty of records at great prices old and new. Also this has to be the best name for a record store surely?

More coming soon on what we purchased 👀 taken in Fountain Records by @thevinyltrove

🐀 Bows + Arrows 🐀

Sorry it’s been a while since we shared some vinyl. Life has been very busy.

But recently we had the privilege to see @thewalkmen twice this week in Manchester. I honestly never thought I would see this band live. I got into the band back in 2013 when they disappeared on a 10 year long hiatus. So when they announced a reunion I couldn’t believe it and for them to come to the UK and play my hometown.

Bows + Arrows is one of my favourite albums of all time. Yes a bold statement but I really connected with this album in many different ways. You can’t buy this LP online only at a Walkmen show which makes it that bit special. This is a remastered version from the original 2004 LP but comes with extra songs and a beautiful white vinyl to go with. The Walkmen have always been terribly underrated in my opinion. Let us know what you think of this album in the comments if you’ve heard it. 🐀🇬🇧 taken in New York City by @thevinyltrove
