As I'm wrapping up Jones Spring Break trip, I decided to hop down back home so Jones can see my old stomping grounds.

I only had 1 to do on my agenda, everything else we freestyled.

I had to go check out my cuz @ayah.davis and her beautiful art gallery @chromophore_artspace

I am soooo happy and proud of the work you're doing for the Black art community cuz. Watching you in your element was beautiful to witness.

I also ran into an old friend, @khalid_thompson who is amazing artist. His art is currently featured at Chromophore!

Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19th, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It specifically marks the day, June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the freedom of enslaved Africans more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

The flag uses the colors red, white, and blue of the American flag. Featured prominently in the center of the flag is a bursting star. Running through the center of the flag horizontally is an arc that is meant to symbolize the new horizon of opportunity for black people. (Black, Red and Green are our Pan-African colors, it isn't symbolic to Juneteenth)

The red drink is a significant and traditional beverage. It holds cultural and historical meaning, symbolizing the resilience and joy of the Black community, while also acknowledging the bloodshed of enslaved ancestors during the transatlantic slave trade. The color red also signifies strength and a new beginning.

Juneteenth is a day of liberation, reflection, and continued striving for racial justice and equality.

Today, we should be focused on community, centering our voices for Black liberation, as well as showing love to Black led organizations. (I'll be dropping a few in my stories)

We need strategy and we need compassion for our brands that are affected by this move.

Initially, I was speaking out of emotion as well and wanting to immediately boycott, but my good friend broke it down for me as to why that's not necessarily the best move right now. I'm grateful for those friends.

Go to the business owners page, they are being vocal in how this will hurt them so listen to them.
