Welcome to “The V Mixer” or in other words “The Vicissitude Mixer” IG page!

It’s social tech mixer for black people & we’re here to influence the professional careers of the black community into tech

Vicissitude means a change or variation occurring in the course of something or interchange or alternation, as of states or things.

We hope to introduce more people in the black community to learn more about the tech industry (how it can benefit them, what careers are offered, how fun tech mixers & networking can be, & all the amazing people you can meet and network with along the way)! Our name was created around the word vicissitude but as for our mission our CEO had an epiphany when she heard about all the wonderful things the tech industry offers in a career and wanted a change in her life and field working in healthcare & food. Well, we want people to feel a change in their hearts and minds too & take a leap of faith/open mindedness into the world of tech…& hopefully get jobs in this field. We want people to feel that it’s okay to find interest in another industry, or to quit your job in hopes of breaking into tech. Right now, it’s known that there’s still a racial gap in the tech industry especially concerning black employees and what we want you to know is that we’re trying to diminish/change the trajectory of racial inequality in those who are/are looking to get in the tech industry. So we hope these mixers (information, networking, & social environments) help you make the best decision for you & your future!!! taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @thevmixer
