Free and accessible in this climate? The response to WeGood has been nothing short of incredible. We see you all. WalkGood LA was built on the belief that wellness is a right, not a luxury. Wellness is for EVERY BODY.

WeGood is how we live that out, right here at @thewalkgoodyard.

Beginning March 31st, all classes at The WalkGood Yard are free/donation-based.

What happens when we remove the barriers to wellness and promote mental & physical health resources and access in our communities? We’re ready for it. We need it.

Beginning March 31st, @thewalkgoodyard will transition to become a fully donation-based creative wellness studio, offering free weekly yoga and meditation classes to the community.

Yes, that’s right. No memberships. No drop in rates per class. There is no price on your health.

We are so proud to be introducing WeGood, a new program at WalkGood open to all. All ages, all levels. We are all deserving of access to holistic wellness practices in our community. It’s time we receive that access.

Classes will be offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

You can view the new schedule and RSVP now at walkgoodla.org.

If you want to support WalkGood LA in keeping programs like WeGood free and accessible, consider becoming a monthly donor by going to our website or texting WALKGOOD to 53-555.

See you soon and WalkGood ❤️💛💚

2 years of building community ❤️💛💚

What started as a protest in the park turned into a space for healing, movement, and real connection. From collective action to collective care, The Walkgood Yard has grown into something powerful a place where we breathe deeper, move with intention, and show up fully as ourselves.

This isn’t just a milestone, it’s proof of what happens when community chooses community.

Thank you for showing up, but most importantly showing up for your YOURSELF! by @thewalkgoodyard

Three things I’ve learned from holding space (literally) for community over the last six years:

1. Space matters.

WalkGood started at LA High Memorial Park with the support of the people, just a few blocks from where I grew up. At the time, gathering in public was an act of protest. We didn’t have permission. We just knew our community needed somewhere to heal.

2. Being welcomed matters.

In 2022, we moved to Kenneth Hahn Park with the support of @hollyjmitchell and @on. We went from occupying space to being invited into it. That shift allowed us to dream bigger, serve more people, and build consistency around our mission.

3. Having a home matters.

Today, we have @thewalkgoodyard with the support of @propelwater. Our own space. A place where we can gather more intimately, experiment with new ideas, and continue building community on our own terms.

LA High. Kenneth Hahn. The Yard.

Each space represents a different chapter of our growth. Each one taught us something different about what it means to create belonging.

Six years later, I’m grateful for every person who has walked alongside us.

Six years ago, WalkGood LA began as a protest.

It was 2020. A pandemic was taking our breath, and across the country people were in the streets demanding that Black lives matter. We were carrying the names of too many people taken by racial violence, and we needed to do something with the grief besides break. So we ran. We breathed. We gathered.

What started as a moment became a movement. And that movement became WalkGood LA, a nonprofit holding healing spaces for the people too often shut out of them.

Six years later, we’re still here. Still showing up. And we still carry the ones we lost, in every space we hold.
This was never ours alone. It’s yours as much as it is ours. Thank you for six years together.

Help us keep these spaces open for the next six. #donate #walkgood #la #nonprofit

✨Our Arts Accelerator is a space for creatives young womxn to explore their voice, build community, and grow in their craft through real world experiences, learning and mentorship.

For our last session, we gathered at The WalkGood Yard, holding space not only to create, but to pause and pour back into ourselves. With guidance from a wellness practitioner from the WalkGood family, our girls were able to ground, reflect, and reconnect.

We were also joined by community organizations like SONA, who showed up to share their insights and poured into this cohort reminding us how vital it is to be in conversation with those actively shaping the industry.

Programs like this are only possible through community. Having spaces and people who show up in this way allows us to nurture both the artist and the individual.

We are grateful. 🤲🏽💕
