POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Let’s be honest, writing a CV is a frustrating process. You spend hours trying to get it right, send it out, and then... silence. It can make you question your experience and your skills.

But the problem usually isn’t you. It’s that your CV is failing the 6-second test.

Recruiters don’t read your CV; they scan it. And study after study (like the one from Jakob Nielsen in this video) proves they scan in an “F-Structure.” They read the top, then skim down the left side, with one or two smaller peeks into the middle.

If your key skills and achievements aren’t in those “hot zones,” they are literally invisible.

🎯 The 6-Second Rule: Why recruiters miss your best achievements.

The “F-Structure”: The eye-tracking secret to how everyone reads online.

The “Hot Zones”: The exact spots on your CV where you must put your core skills and biggest wins.

Stop Being Invisible: Learn how to use this structure to make the recruiter see your value instantly.

Save this post to re-format your CV this weekend.

A little about me.
This is the timeline I’ve been waiting to share. It’s a look back at the chapters that shaped me, from questioning my purpose in my first job to finally launching the space I’ve always dreamed of.

It hasn’t been a linear journey. There have been moments of bold leaps, unexpected scholarships, and countless rejections. Each challenge, each success, has been a lesson in resilience and faith.

I’m so proud of the person I’ve become: the girl who took that first step towards my current self, who fought through mental health battles, and who is now building something truly meaningful.

This timeline is a testament that our biggest dreams are worth every difficult step.

I hope that sharing my journey inspires you to reflect on your own🤍

Hi, I’m Angel!
and if you’re watching my video today, you have stepped into a dream that I’ve been building for days, weeks, and months.

Yes, I am an overthinker, a procrastinator, and the eldest daughter of a family who did most of the heavy lifting during my 20s. I’ve achieved a lot in my career, made my parents proud, and, of course, got stuck in a paradox.

Am I proud of myself? Probably not.

So here I am, taking that big leap, taking that bold step from working for someone else’s dream to working for mine.

Comment “LIST” and I will send you the list of areas to highlight in your CV! 👇

Day 20/75

Stop listing basic duties on your CV! Employers want to see the measurable impact you made. 💼✨

Adding financial achievements (with exact numbers like £) instantly elevates your profile summary and proves your value at a glance.

Here are 3 ways to highlight accomplishments using £ values in your profile summary:

 * Example 1 (Retail / Customer Service):
“Customer Service Assistant who managed high-volume daily transactions and upsold complementary products, contributing to £45K in quarterly store sales.”

 * Example 2 (Office Admin / Junior Operations):
“Organised Administrative Assistant who renegotiated office supply contracts and audited subscriptions, saving the team £3,200 annually.”

 * Example 3 (Events / Hospitality):
“Event Coordinator who managed vendor bookings and ticket sales for local community events, raising over £15,000 for regional initiatives.”

It’s been exactly one week since that flight to Vilnius, and looking back, the feeling that stays with me most is how quickly a group of people can become a true community.

Stepping into a room with brilliant Ukrainian women entrepreneurs and leaders, alongside amazing WAKE advisors and WAKE team members, changed something inside me. We spent our days sharing stories, working through challenges, and learning side by side in a space built on deep mutual respect.

For me, this week was a personal turning point. Stepping up to facilitate and build alongside this group challenged me to drop the self-doubt we all secretly carry and just show up as I am.

What stood out the most was the sheer warmth in that room. There was no pressure to put on a mask or play a role, just a safe, welcoming environment where everyone could exhale. It changed how I view connection entirely, and I felt that it was about holding space for each other, showing up with an open heart, and realising that our confidence grows simply because the women around us are lifting us up.

I took these photos of the incredible faces I met out there. Every single smile holds a story of resilience and grace.

Thank you, WAKE for this life-changing opportunity. Special thanks to Trish Tierney, Emily Berlin, and Isabela Lyrio for making this happen and bringing us all together.

To everyone in that room: Thank You for reminding me of what we can achieve when we simply listen, share our experiences, and support each other’s growth.

Thank You, Vilnius, for adding some beautiful moments to my core memory, and for giving me a reason to come back💛

If you don’t know the answer in an interview, say this:

“That’s a great question. I don’t have that specific experience off the top of my head, but the way I would approach it is…”

Then walk them through your thinking.

Here is why this works. Interviewers are not always looking for the perfect answer. They are looking for how you handle pressure, how honest you are, and whether you can think on your feet. Saying you don’t know and then showing your thought process tells them far more than a rehearsed answer ever could.

Studies show that 93% of communication is non-verbal. Your tone and composure in that moment carry more weight than the words themselves.

The worst thing you can do is bluff. Experienced interviewers will spot it immediately, and it kills trust instantly.

The best thing you can do is stay calm, be honest, and show them how your mind works. That is a skill most candidates never demonstrate.

The ones who get hired do this within two hours. 👇
Send a follow up email.

Not a generic “thank you for your time.” A real one.

Here is exactly what it should include:
Reference something specific from the conversation. A moment, a topic, something they said that stuck with you. This proves you were genuinely listening.

Add one insight or idea you thought of after the interview. Something relevant to the role or the team. This shows you are already thinking like someone who works there.

Close with warmth, not desperation. Not “I really hope to hear from you.” Something simple like “I genuinely enjoyed our conversation and I look forward to staying in touch.”

That is it. Three paragraphs. Sent within two hours.

Most candidates never send it.

Save this for your next interview.

Before you go in for your next interview:

✅ Write out your top 5 stories from your career. Not facts. Stories. A challenge you faced, what you did, what changed because of you. These are your anchors. When your brain blanks, you reach for one of these.

✅ Record yourself answering two questions out loud. Not in your head. Out loud. Your brain needs to have actually done it before, not just imagined it.

✅ The night before, stop preparing. Sleep is doing more for you than another hour of notes.

Now you know.

Save this for the night before your next interview. And if someone you know has one coming up, send it to them right now. by @thewalkwithangel
